Cindric returns to Team Penske
Austin Cindric will return to Team Penske for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season and will stay in the No. 2 Ford, confirming the move during media availabilities at Charlotte Motor Speedway. When asked whether he would remain in the car for 2027, Cindric answered, “That’s correct.” He has driven the No. 2 since 2022, and the return keeps him with the same team and number for another season.
Penske lineup remains unchanged
The decision keeps Team Penske’s three-car Cup Series lineup intact for 2027, with Ryan Blaney continuing in the No. 12 and Joey Logano remaining in the No. 22. Cindric also brings strong current form into the mix. He is ninth in the Chase standings and has a career-best 15.7 average finish through 31 of 36 races this season. His recent stretch includes a second-place finish at Kansas, two top-five finishes and three top-10 finishes in his last four races. He entered Sunday’s race at Charlotte with eight straight finishes of 13th or better.
