Till says Page matchup fits if he returns to BKFC

Darren Till said he is “really open” to a bare-knuckle boxing fight with Michael “Venom” Page, and said the matchup would make sense if Page returns to BKFC. BKFC president Dave Feldman also said the promotion would be interested in booking Till against Page, with the fight ideally taking place in the UK.

Till is preparing to face Yoel Romero at BKFC 94 on Saturday night, while Page was recently released by the UFC at the end of his contract. Page won five of his six UFC fights before leaving the promotion.

Page has already fought once in BKFC, losing to Mike Perry in August 2022 before returning to MMA. The possible Till-Page matchup would bring two high-profile names together if Page chooses to come back to the bare-knuckle promotion.

Daniel Suárez, Julia Piquet welcome baby boy Otto

Daniel Suárez and Julia Piquet welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Otto Suárez Piquet. Suárez announced the birth on social media Tuesday and called Otto “the biggest blessing of our lives.” He also shared photos on Instagram of Piquet with the newborn after the birth.

The baby arrived after a stretch of baby watch for the couple during the NASCAR Cup Series Chase presented by Mobil 1. Piquet’s original due date was Sept. 17, and Suárez said the birth came on an off-day, which allowed him to be at the hospital. He said he would have stayed at the track if she had gone into labor on a race weekend. Justin Allgaier had been on standby for Suárez’s No. 7 team last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Suárez finished 14th at Bristol while balancing the birth watch with his 2026 season for Spire Motorsports. His only win of the year came in the Coca-Cola 600 on May 24, and he had seven top-10 finishes and three top-five finishes. After three playoff races, he sat 16th in the standings.

Baku Grand Prix tests energy use and tyre strategy

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku will be a test of energy deployment, tyre preparation and timing as much as outright pace. The 6.003-kilometre street circuit mixes a 2.2-kilometre main straight and a narrow, twisty run through the old city, so teams will have to balance low downforce for the drag race from Turn 16 to Turn 1 with enough stability for the slower corners and heavy braking zones. The run to Turn 1 is the shortest on the F1 calendar at just 111 meters, while the 2026 rules could also make the Turn 18 and Turn 19 sequence more significant if drivers cannot take it flat-out.

Qualifying is likely to be especially tricky because the circuit punishes mistakes and offers little margin for tyre warm-up, particularly on a surface that has been resurfaced around Turns 2-4. With low degradation expected, teams may lean toward a one-stop strategy, but the combination of energy limits, tyre preparation and the need to manage traction through the street sections should keep the race unpredictable.

Larson Takes One-Point Lead Into Kansas Playoff Pressure

Kyle Larson takes a one-point lead over Denny Hamlin into Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, the fourth race of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Only 17 points separate the top four drivers, making this an early pressure point. Larson opened as the favorite at +400, Hamlin at +425. Christopher Bell and Tyler Reddick opened at +575, while Ryan Blaney, Ty Gibbs and Chase Briscoe were in the next tier and Joey Logano opened at +2500.

Kansas history is strong for several contenders. Larson has three wins there and has led a track-record 1,003 laps, while Hamlin has four victories and 18 top-10 finishes at the track. Chase Elliott enters as the most recent playoff winner at Kansas after his 2025 victory, and he also owns the best active average finish in the 2026 playoff field at 9.810.

Logano has three Kansas postseason wins, the most among active drivers at the track, and two victories in the fourth playoff race among current playoff drivers. Jimmie Johnson leads all drivers with three wins in that race slot, and Hendrick Motorsports leads all organizations with seven victories. The Hollywood Casino 400 is scheduled for Sept. 27 at Kansas Speedway and will air on USA Network, with radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Tyler Reddick won at Kansas on the last lap in April, Larson edged Chris Buescher by 0.001 seconds there in May 2024, and the race begins a stretch of three 1.5-mile tracks over the next four weeks.

Rain pushes Kokomo sprint car finale to Sept. 27

Persistent rain postponed Wednesday’s Driven2SaveLives Midweek Mayhem at Kokomo Speedway, delaying the final round of the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series until Sunday, Sept. 27. Previously purchased tickets and pit passes will remain valid, and new tickets are still available online and at the gate.

The rescheduled program is set to open with pits at 2 p.m. ET and grandstands at 4 p.m. ET, followed by hot laps at 5:45 p.m. ET and racing at 7 p.m. ET. Before High Limit Racing returns to Kokomo, the series is scheduled to compete in the 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, from Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 26.

Brent Marks leads the $25,000 series championship chase and needs a top-six finish to clinch the title. Aaron Reutzel remains in contention, and Rico Abreu and Giovanni Scelzi still have outside chances in the championship battle.

Biolos’ Boards Lead Trestles, Brooks Wins Again

Matt Biolos’ Lost Surfboards stayed atop the Surfboard Empire CT Shaper Rankings after the Lexus Trestles Pro at Lower Trestles, with his boards again a major presence through the event. Lost riders Erin Brooks and Gabriela Bryan met in the women’s final, and Brooks won her third straight CT event of the season.

Biolos also had five of the eight semifinalists on Mayhem boards, with Brooks, Bryan, Sawyer Lindblad, Yago Dora and Cole Houshmand all advancing that far. He added two quarterfinalists, Eden Walla and Carissa Moore, to the deep showing at Lower Trestles.

Elsewhere in the standings, DHD remained No. 2 overall in the shaper rankings after nine events, while Sharp Eye was third, JS was fourth and Channel Islands was fifth. JS Industries strengthened its hold on second place in the men’s-only rankings after Miguel Pupo beat Kanoa Igarashi in an all-JS final. The next CT stop is the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal, scheduled for Oct. 16-25.

Darrell Waltrip Diagnosed With Frontotemporal Degeneration

Darrell Waltrip has been diagnosed with frontotemporal degeneration, and his family said the NASCAR Hall of Famer will be stepping further away from public life as the disease progresses. His family also said possible chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, may be a factor linked to injuries from his racing career. They said his symptoms are still minor and that he remains otherwise happy and healthy.

Waltrip, who is married to Stevie, is spending more time with her, their two daughters and three grandchildren. The family said the decision to step back is tied to health reasons. Waltrip last appeared publicly at the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway in March, where he delivered his trademark “Boogity, Boogity, Boogity” line.

Waltrip built a Hall of Fame career in NASCAR, winning three Cup championships in 1981, 1982 and 1985, along with 84 races in 809 Cup starts. His victories included the 1989 Daytona 500 and five Coca-Cola 600 wins. After retiring from driving, he became FOX Sports’ lead NASCAR analyst and broadcast with the network from 2001 to 2019.

Legacy Motor Club taps Jeremy Bullins as Herbst’s crew chief

Legacy Motor Club said Jeremy Bullins will join the team in 2027 as crew chief for Riley Herbst and the No. 84 Toyota Camry XSE, as the car debuts as a full-time chartered entry and the organization expands to three full-time entries. Herbst will be entering his third full-time NASCAR Cup Series season, and Bullins and Herbst are scheduled to make their Legacy debut at Daytona International Speedway in February 2027.

Bullins is leaving RFK Racing after an amicable parting of ways, following the last two seasons working with Brad Keselowski. He brings more than 25 years of NASCAR experience, 10 Cup Series victories as a crew chief and 21 wins in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Bullins has also led drivers into the postseason seven times and previously served as crew chief for Ryan Blaney, Brad Keselowski, Austin Cindric and Harrison Burton.

Legacy Motor Club said Bullins’ experience is intended to help make the program competitive from the start, and executives said his leadership and driver-development skills fit the team’s long-term plans. Co-owner Jimmie Johnson called Bullins a strong fit for the No. 84 team, and Herbst said Bullins’ track record gives him confidence.

Darren Till Doubts Yoel Romero Will Stay Retired

Darren Till said he does not believe Yoel Romero will truly retire from combat sports before their BKFC 94 main event, framing the bout as part of a career that still appears unfinished. Till said Romero, who is 49, has fought 12 times across six promotions and five rulesets since his final UFC bout in 2020, and joked that the former UFC standout would probably keep competing until he is 69. He described Romero as a “human experiment.”

The Till-Romero matchup is scheduled to headline BKFC 94, and Till said he wants the bare-knuckle fight to be entertaining. He said he is wary that Romero could take a cautious approach that would make the bout boring.

Till enters the main event off a successful BKFC debut in May, when he recovered from an early knockdown and stopped Aaron Chalmers with a second-round knockout.
