Berry, Gragson crash in Vegas Cup practice as tire issues mount

NXTbets Pro | Published On: October 4, 2026

Practice disrupted by tire trouble

Josh Berry and Noah Gragson crashed minutes apart during Cup practice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and tire trouble sat at the center of both incidents. Berry lost control in Turn 1 after an apparent tire failure and hit the Turn 2 wall hard. Wood Brothers Racing then switched the No. 21 Ford to a backup car. Gragson later backed the No. 4 Ford into the Turn 2 wall after the right-rear tire appeared to go down. Neither driver was reported injured.

Pressure concerns grow

The crashes came in a practice session that featured multiple tire issues and put air pressure at the forefront for teams preparing for qualifying and the South Point 400 on Sunday. Berry’s and Gragson’s wrecks left teams focused on how much pressure they could safely run. The day did not produce injuries.
