Drag racing is back! The fastest racers down the straight assemble in Gainesville this weekend for the opening showcase of the 2026 NHRA season. Shawn Langdon, Austin Prock, Greg Anderson, and Gaige Herrera top the pre-event odds in their respective categories after dominant displays last year. Besides the favorites, there is a host of value on the table this weekend, spearheaded by Doug Kalitta in the Top Fuel class.
In addition to traditional sports betting on the NHRA, we have Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) and Real Money Gaming available in a Pick’Em style on Underdog. Although “fantasy games” might seem misleading, DFS is a significant and growing category within legal sports wagering. NHRA fans are allowed to legally make better/worse picks with real money gaming in 30 states, including California, Texas & Wisconsin, where traditional sports betting is currently illegal. For new players, Underdog is offering fans a “Play $5 In Fantasy Entries, Get $75 In Fantasy Bonus Entries”!

Sportsboooks have Shawn Langdon at the head of the odds table in the Top Fuel class, after appearing in six final last year. The Californian prevailed in three of those duels, one shy of the winningest pilots in the class. On the topic of victories, Doug Kalitta and Justin Ashley secured more trips inside Victory Lane in 2025 than their peers, and are raring to pick up from where they left off.
Most impressive for Kalitta, is that he won all his races in the final eight meetings of the season. Moving down the list, Antron Brown returns to the venue where he clinched the title last time out. We thought it would be the start of another Championship run, but it ended up being is sole triumph of the campaign.

Austin Prock was utterly dominant in the previous season, notching up an incredible nine victories. His antics propelled him into a 101-point lead at the top of the standings, and he never looked like he would relinquish it. His nearest rival throughout proceedings was Matt Hagan, who took the checkered flag three times in six finals appearances.
Jack Beckman was only one of seven drivers to taste glory in 2025, and he managed it twice despite appearing in five E4 clashes. The Gatornationals were as good as it got for Chad Green last season. He prevailed down in Florida, but would not enter another final for the remainder of the term, falling short in E3 on three occasions.

The Pro Stock bracket was a two-driver race in 2025, with Greg Anderson and Dallas Glenn producing 14 victories between them. Glenn contributed the most to the duo’s tally with eight triumphs in 13 finals. Despite his superiority, the sportsbooks favor his rival Anderson for top honors in Florida, after winning 60% of his 10 finals appearances in the previous term.
As we venture down the odds sheet, we find Matt Hartford, who endured a frustrating outing last year. He progressed to five finals, but failed to convert. Erica Enders found herself in two E4 contests and closed out the year with a single victory, putting her on par with Cory Reed and Greg Standfield.

The expectations for Gaige Herrera were sky high leading into last season, but he was humbled by the end of it. He fell 21 points short in the standings, despite closing out the campaign as the winningest rider with seven scalps to his name. However, his victorious run was insufficient to thwart the rise of Richard Gadson, the 2025 Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion.
Gadson only snatched four checkered flags along the way, but it was his consistency that catapulted him to the head of the standings. He appeared in seven finals, winning four. John Hall joined Herrera and Gadson as one of three riders to win multiple events last year, and he did it after only appearing in three finals. Finally, Matt Smith contested five E4 showdowns, winning the American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals.
