Schedule and How to Watch NHRA Sonoma Nationals

Three days of racing transform the blissful surroundings of vineyards into a hotbed of roaring engines pushing the speed limits. Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock Car, and Pro Stock Motorcycle competitors arrive at Sonoma Raceway on Friday, July 25, for qualifying. Competitors shift gears on Saturday with the arrival of the #2Fast2Tasty Challenge. Round 1 of the challenge starts at lunch, with the finals kicking off from 2:15 pm PDT.

A win on Saturday is nice, but the big prize lies ahead on Sunday, July 27, for the drivers who can survive the Elimination rounds, starting at 10:30 am. Watch the NHRA elite fight for dominance in wine country, live on FS1 and Fox.

Best Bets and Odds for NHRA Sonoma Nationals

Top Fuel

Event Winner Odds

Justin Ashley was thrust back into reality last weekend, ending a two-race winning streak. He faltered in E2 at Pacific Raceways, missing only his second final in eight starts. Shawn Langdon returned to Victory Lane for the third time this season, becoming the outright winningest rider this year. He lines up as the series leader with five finals under the hood, in which he won three of them. Brittany Force progressed to her second final in five outings last weekend, losing out to Langdon. Antron Brown has struggled all season and enters off the back of an E2 exit in the previous round. However, the reigning TF series title holder returns as the defending champion to Sonoma and offers excellent value at +556.

Antron Brown is a class act, but he’s proven erratic at times this year. Still, he is always a trophy threat and has a win and a runner-up to his name this campaign. Brown arrives in Sonoma priced at +556 and 15.24% chance of taking the title. A $20 wager at that price may payout $131.20 on a $20 wager.

Funny Car

Event Winner Odds

Funny Car series leader Austin Prock broke a two-event winning streak last weekend in Washington, exiting in E2. Despite the speed bump, he arrives as the heavy favorite enter Victory Lane. Prock has entered six finals during the season, prevailing four times, to become the winningest navigator in the category. Matt Hagan was rewarded for his consistency throughout the season, leaving the Pacific Raceways with his maiden victory of the year. He’s now featured in the last two finals, but his odds position him as a long shot. Another longshot, Ron Capps raced in his fourth final in the last round, losing out to Hagan. Finally, Jack Beckman remains second in the standings, with two wins on his record in 2025.

Consistency is key in a long season, and Austin Prock would take the prize if there were an award for it. He’s found himself in five of the last eight finals, winning 50% of those showdowns, to give himself a 140-point lead in the standings. Prock is priced at +262 to claim the silverware in California, which translates to a possible return of $72.40 for a $20 stake.

Pro Stock

Event Winner Odds

The dynamic duo of Anderson and Glenn is keeping the Pro Stock competition interesting. Only 36 points separate Greg Anderson from Dallas Glenn after a decorated start to the year that includes eight victories for the pair. Greg Anderson has hit a snag in the last two rounds, missing his first two finals of the year, while Dallas Glenn arrives fresh from three consecutive finals, including a win. Longshot, Jeg Coughlin Jr has cause to celebrate after entering his first final of the year in Washington. The result didn’t go his way, but he did end a run of five consecutive E1 exits. Cory Reed holds the esteemed honor of being the only driver in the category besides Glenn and Anderson to win this season. And, he did it in his maiden final.

You can expect Greg Anderson to fight back hard in Sonoma after two tough events, but we still think Dallas Glenn carries the upper hand. Glenn has qualified for eight finals this term, winning 50% of them, including the Northwest Nationals last weekend. At +357, a $20 wager stands to potentially payout $91.40.

Pro Stock Motorcycle

Event Winner Odds

Another round, and another pre-event favorite tag for Gaige Herrera. He sped down the strip in 2023 to beat Matt Smith on this asphalt, but Smith returned with a vengeance on their last visit to bag top honors. Herrera comfortably rules the Pro Stock Motorcycle class, holding a 138-point buffer over the second-ranked rider, qualifying for six finals in seven rounds on the calendar, and winning four of them. Richard Gadson has emerged as the leader’s closest challenger in recent rounds, entering four finals in six events, and prevailing at Thunder Valley. Keep an eye on Smith, the defending champion here, because he’s already made three finals and won one event in 2025.

The class of Gaige Herrera makes it hard to argue a case against his selection as our expert pick. He’s won 57.14% of all Pro Stock Motorcycle events in 2025, justifying his short odds. He arrives in Sonoma at -138, which potentially pays out $34.49 when you bet $20.
