Schedule and How to Watch Lexus Tahiti Pro

French Polynesia is a gem of a destination to visit, and for the next nine days, the island will witness the best surfing that the Championship Tour has to offer. The First Call is scheduled for Thursday, August 7, at 7:00 am local time, which is 1:00 pm EDT on Wednesday, August 6. Competitors will enjoy paradise until August 16, when we find out which surfers make the final 5 cutoff.  As always, you can follow the action live on WSL.com, and check the latest matchups and results on the dedicated event page.

2025 WSL Lexus Tahiti Pro Odds

Event Winner - Men's

Italo Ferreira is back in the town that bathed him in glory on his last visit. The Brazilian touches down in the South Pacific with two finals and a win to his name, but he hasn’t progressed to the final two since Portugal in March. The defending champion is also sitting dangerously close to the “Final 5 Cutoff” and needs a strong showing to book his ticket to Fiji. Griffin Colapinto starts as one of two in-form surfers, coming off two finals and two semifinals in his last four appearances.

Another Brazilian, Yago Dora, is the other man ripping it up, arriving off the back of a victory and a runner-up in the last three rounds. He stole the yellow jersey off of Jordy Smith, in the South African’s backyard in July, and now he’s the only competitor to clinch a WSL Finals spot coming into Tahiti. Connor O’Leary bagged his maiden victory of the season, but it looks like his campaign will end after this event, unless Ferreira or Ethan Ewing seriously falter at Teahupoʻo.

Expert Pick

Yago Dora has remained consistent this season, despite three hiccups along the way. He gets up on the board in Tahiti after entering the quarterfinals or better in 70% of his events this year, with two triumphs. The Brazilian offers excellent value for money in the penultimate showdown at +793, potentially paying out $178.60 on a $20 wager.

Event Winner - Women's

Molly Picklum is a model for consistency in 2025, going beyond the quarterfinals seven times in 10 events this season. The Australian and yellow jersey leader starts in Tahiti after three consecutive Championship Tour finals, winning in Rio for her maiden success of the campaign. While Picklum has our attention, the bettors are still fixated on the wunderkind, Caitlin Simmers, who starts as the favorite at +349. The young Californian is a three-time finalist this season, with one victory on the board.

Simmers joins Picklum and Gabriela Bryan as the only three to have already clinched their WSL Finals berth. Bryan is fresh off her third title of the year, arriving in French Polynesia as the winningest surfer in the women’s bracket. She has taken top honors twice in her last four outings and is always a trophy threat. Caroline Marks paddles out as the second favorite and is starting to find some form late in the season, with consecutive semifinal appearances. However, the veteran needs another strong showing here to leapfrog Bettylou Sakura Johnson into the Final Five Cutoff.

Expert Pick

We were divided between Gabriela Bryan and Molly Picklum, but the latter’s consistency eventually won us over. Picklum is in high spirits after making three finals and walking away with a victory in Rio. Sportsbooks have the Australian at +527 for the win, potentially paying out $125.40 if you bet $20.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Refer to your sportsbook’s eligibility requirements, terms, and conditions, or contact your state’s gaming commission to verify your state’s WSL betting legality. Most licensed betting platforms restrict access in prohibited states, saving you from the long confirmation process.

For the best WSL betting experience, select reputable, regulated sportsbooks like FanduelDraftKingsCaesars Sportsbook, and BetMGM. Check event schedules and relevant offers ahead of every WSL competition. Use Underdog Fantasy for Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) gaming.

The legal status of WSL betting differs from state to state. The lifting of the federal sports betting ban in 2018 (by the Supreme Court) gave states the independence to legalize sports betting. WSL betting is mostly legal in states with regulated sports betting and licensed sportsbooks like Colorado and New Jersey. Check your sportsbooks and state-specific regulations to confirm availability.

Common WSL betting options include outright winner bets, head-to-head matchups, and futures bets (predicting season champions). Most platforms also allow prop bets—for example, you can predict the highest wave score in a competition.

Yes. Betting platforms like FanDuel and BetMGM have live betting options. Their users can place bets during the WSL competition. For example, bettors can predict the next wave score, who will win the ongoing heat, or whether a competitor will achieve a given aggregate. Note that not all events may qualify for live betting. Check out your sportsbook live betting section for more.

Consider Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) if your state does not allow sports betting. Unlike traditional betting, DFS falls under a different regulatory framework, making it legal in several jurisdictions. DFS platforms like Underground Fantasy and DraftKings DFS are common in states where sports betting is illegal.
