The women’s snowboard event presents one of the most open contests on the program in Aspen. Double X Games Big Air gold medalist Kokomo Murarse arrives in the United States as a serious contender for top honors. Besides her historical results, the Japanese snowboarder landed the first women’s triple cork 1620 in November 2025. If she can pull that off in Aspen, she may find herself standing on the top of the platform come Saturday evening.
Veteran Anna Gasser lines up as a credible threat after securing four golds and seven medals in total in this discipline at previous games. However, she’s the oldest in the field and only recently returned from a surfing accident, which prompted reconstructive surgery on her shoulder. Japan is seeking to dominate the men’s snowboard big air competition with a clean sweep of the rostrum. The “land of the rising sun” is spearheaded by Hiroto Ogiwara, who became the first snowboarder to land a 2340 (six and a half rotations). It seems that wasn’t enough for Ogiwara, as he is said to be striving for a 2520 on the slopes of Aspen this weekend. The 20-year old is on a high coming into this event after capturing the title in Steamboat in December.
Taiga Hasegawa wasn’t going to sit back and let Ogiwara take all the glory in 2025. He launched a competition-first, Cab 1260, which propelled the 2024 Champion into the runner-up position last year. The final podium hopeful for Japan is Kira Kimura, who is yet to don an X Games medal. However, he enters Colorado in form after bagging consecutive silver medals in World Cup events last December. Moving down the age ladder, we find 17-year-old Oliver Martin, who is the youngest in the field. Don’t let his youth fool you, as he clinched a bronze medal a month ago and has earned a spot on the US snowboard pro slopestyle team for the upcoming year.

Three-time gold-medalist in the women’s XG ski big air, Mathilde Gremaud is back and looking for more glory. She last tasted victory in this event in 2021, which is also the final time she stood on the podium at this venue. Gremaud needs only three more X Games medals to reach the biggest haul of ski medals, after finding her way onto the rostrum in five out of her last eight big air starts.
Another seasoned campaigner in this discipline is Megan Oldham, who is a double X Games big air winner. Only one of her gold medals arrived in Aspen back in 2023. That was the year that the Canadian landed the first triple cork in a women’s competition. One of the younger competitors on the roster is Scottish lass Kirsty Muir. She settled for bronze in this town back in 2023, but fared well last month at Secret Garden, collecting a World Cup scalp. Sticking with youthful athletes, Naomi Urness has caught our attention recently, after podiuming in all three World Cup events late last year, including a win in Steamboat.

United State skiier, Mac Forehand, knows how to secure a medal, snatching five in his eight X Games appearances. His greatest run came at Aspen 2023, when he took first prize in the men’s big air. He proved he can handle pressure by landing the first forward 2160 in the final round of his XG triumph. A special mention must go to Alex Hall, who is the only man to win three ski medals in the same X Games. While his historic record is hard to ignore, its been a while since he was troubling the front-runners.

The Australian is only one victory shy of equalling the great Shaun White’s gold medal record in this event. James is constantly pushing boundaries, and last year, he landed a triple cork 1440 in a competition run to snatch his fourth consecutive superpipe XG title.
Two-time medalist in these Games, Ruka Hirano is being touted as a potential minor placer this weekend. His best performance led to the superpipe silver medal, one spot better than his 2021 bronze. The Japanese competitor sat out the 2025 visit to Colorado with a concussion, but he made use of his time on the sidelines. Talk from extreme sports pundits suggests that Hirano is on the cusp of executing a Cab triple cork 1440. Time will tell. On the opposite end of the experience spectrum from James, we meet Campbell Melville Ives, who ended fourth in 2024 and managed to stomp a triple 1440 last September.

Her good fortune continued last year when the British-American topped the World Cup rankings, won the World Championships, and earned three podiums in five events in the current World Cup season. She’s a consistent competitor, but struggles to give rotations beyond 720 degrees, which could hurt her if her opponents rip it.
Australia’s 15-year-old prodigy Indra Brown starts the X Games with three podiums under her belt in her last four events. Two of those were World Cup appearances, and she’s proved that she’s not here to make up the numbers. She also cruised to victory in Calgary, but we won’t read too much into that one, as it included a weaker field with qualified Olympians absent. From youth to experience, we find Cassie Sharpe, who is more than double the age of Brown, but a serious threat to the medals. The Canadian has more silverware than her opponents in this event, including a gold from 12 months ago.

He’s known for executing a double cork 1620, but word is that he’s working on a switch right alley-oop double bio 1260 for this spectacle to help him retain his title. While the favorites are over 30, one of the podium challengers, Finlay Melville-Ives, is still a teenager. The Kiwi just missed the rostrum in his rookie year 12 months ago, but his luck has changed. Melville-Ives drops in after securing three podiums in his last four events between December 2025 and January 2026.

Your final medal contender in this bracket is the highly experienced Mons Røisland. The Norwegian enjoys a 57.14% podium success rate in his previous seven X Games starts, but he’s never bagged the top honors.

Japan is seeking to dominate the men’s snowboard big air competition with a clean sweep of the rostrum. The “land of the rising sun” is spearheaded by Hiroto Ogiwara, who became the first snowboarder to land a 2340 (six and a half rotations). It seems that wasn’t enough for Ogiwara, as he is said to be striving for a 2520 on the slopes of Aspen this weekend. The 20-year old is on a high coming into this event after capturing the title in Steamboat in December.
Taiga Hasegawa wasn’t going to sit back and let Ogiwara take all the glory in 2025. He launched a competition-first, Cab 1260, which propelled the 2024 Champion into the runner-up position last year. The final podium hopeful for Japan is Kira Kimura, who is yet to don an X Games medal. However, he enters Colorado in form after bagging consecutive silver medals in World Cup events last December. Moving down the age ladder, we find 17-year-old Oliver Martin, who is the youngest in the field. Don’t let his youth fool you, as he clinched a bronze medal a month ago and has earned a spot on the US snowboard pro slopestyle team for the upcoming year.

Women's Ski Event Winner Odds
Three-time gold-medalist in the women’s XG ski big air, Mathilde Gremaud is back and looking for more glory. She last tasted victory in this event in 2021, which is also the final time she stood on the podium at this venue. Gremaud needs only three more X Games medals to reach the biggest haul of ski medals, after finding her way onto the rostrum in five out of her last eight big air starts.
Another seasoned campaigner in this discipline is Megan Oldham, who is a double X Games big air winner. Only one of her gold medals arrived in Aspen back in 2023. That was the year that the Canadian landed the first triple cork in a women’s competition. One of the younger competitors on the roster is Scottish lass Kirsty Muir. She settled for bronze in this town back in 2023, but fared well last month at Secret Garden, collecting a World Cup scalp. Sticking with youthful athletes, Naomi Urness has caught our attention recently, after podiuming in all three World Cup events late last year, including a win in Steamboat.

Men’s ski big air events tend to favor the young bucks, with 11 of the last 26 champions aged 20 or younger. That static jumps again when we look at winners under the age of 22. Over 69% of the previous 26 victors were under the age of 22, which explains why pundits are interested in Luca Harrington. The Kiwi settled for silver in this event 12 months ago, but showed his worth when he prevailed in slopestyle. Harirngton continued to impress last year, winning the World Championships en route to topping the World Cup rankings.
United State skiier, Mac Forehand, knows how to secure a medal, snatching five in his eight X Games appearances. His greatest run came at Aspen 2023, when he took first prize in the men’s big air. He proved he can handle pressure by landing the first forward 2160 in the final round of his XG triumph. A special mention must go to Alex Hall, who is the only man to win three ski medals in the same X Games. While his historic record is hard to ignore, its been a while since he was troubling the front-runners.

Superpipe Pre-Event Odds

The men’s snowboard superpipe event could cement Scotty James’ place in X Games history. He has seven superpipe gold medals in the cabinet and has prevailed in six out of his last seven appearances in this discipline. The Australian is only one victory shy of equalling the great Shaun White’s gold medal record in this event. James is constantly pushing boundaries, and last year, he landed a triple cork 1440 in a competition run to snatch his fourth consecutive superpipe XG title.
Two-time medalist in these Games, Ruka Hirano is being touted as a potential minor placer this weekend. His best performance led to the superpipe silver medal, one spot better than his 2021 bronze. The Japanese competitor sat out the 2025 visit to Colorado with a concussion, but he made use of his time on the sidelines. Talk from extreme sports pundits suggests that Hirano is on the cusp of executing a Cab triple cork 1440. Time will tell. On the opposite end of the experience spectrum from James, we meet Campbell Melville Ives, who ended fourth in 2024 and managed to stomp a triple 1440 last September.

Your 2023 X Games Champion in this event returns as the skier to beat in 2026. Zoe Atkin took top honors three years earlier and backed it up with a silver in 2024. Her good fortune continued last year when the British-American topped the World Cup rankings, won the World Championships, and earned three podiums in five events in the current World Cup season. She’s a consistent competitor, but struggles to give rotations beyond 720 degrees, which could hurt her if her opponents rip it.
Australia’s 15-year-old prodigy Indra Brown starts the X Games with three podiums under her belt in her last four events. Two of those were World Cup appearances, and she’s proved that she’s not here to make up the numbers. She also cruised to victory in Calgary, but we won’t read too much into that one, as it included a weaker field with qualified Olympians absent. From youth to experience, we find Cassie Sharpe, who is more than double the age of Brown, but a serious threat to the medals. The Canadian has more silverware than her opponents in this event, including a gold from 12 months ago.

A legendary rivalry continues between Ferreira and Goepper in the men’s ski superpipe. Local lad Alex Ferreira is an eight-time superpipe podium finisher in 13 X Games appearances, and he topped World Cup rankings in 2025, and collected the first prize in Copper, Colorado, last month. The last time Ferreira clinched the gold was back in 2024, settling for the silver last time out.
The defending champion Nick Goepper is finding his form just in time for the visit to Aspen. He started 2026 on a high, riding to victory in Calgary earlier in January. He’s known for executing a double cork 1620, but word is that he’s working on a switch right alley-oop double bio 1260 for this spectacle to help him retain his title. While the favorites are over 30, one of the podium challengers, Finlay Melville-Ives, is still a teenager. The Kiwi just missed the rostrum in his rookie year 12 months ago, but his luck has changed. Melville-Ives drops in after securing three podiums in his last four events between December 2025 and January 2026.

Slopestyle Pre-Event Odds

Slopestyle presents the second gold medal opportunity to Zoi Sadowski-Synnot at the 2026 Aspen X Games. The defending champion arrives in Colorado with six podiums in her last seven outings on these slopes, including five victories during that period. She missed out on the 2024 Games through injury, but has otherwise dominated this event since 2019. XG history aside, the young New Zealander enjoys a 50% win record in her previous six events over the past 12 months.
Your 2024 Champion, Mia Brookes, drops in at Aspen Snowmass looking to rise up the podium steps again. The British teenager’s “lazy style on the rails” suits the X Games score sheet. Brookes has also built a reputation for executing 270-in, 270-out combos on the rails, and the aggro Cab flatspin 1440 has quickly become her signature. One area where she ight be exposed is her struggles with anti-clockwise rotations. Rounding out the favorites list is Kokomo Murase, who settled for second place in 2024 and 2025 and bronze in 2023. The Japanese snowboarder arrives in form after collecting a bronze at this venue only a few weeks ago.

All eyes are on Red Gerard as he lines up for the men’s slopestyle snowboarding showdown. Gerard is the defending champion and is looking to become the first athlete to pull off the hat-trick in this event in over 20 years. Only one other snowboarder has achieved the feat, and his name is Shaun White. The favorite’s signature switch backside triple cork 1620 often gives him a leg up on his opponents, and not to mention that he hits the rails faster and with more style than his peers.
One man hoping to end Gerard’s dream of the three-peat is Mark McMorris. He boasts seven slopestyle golds and had the chance to deliver the hattrick in 2024. Instead, Gerard upset the apple cart and went on to do the double in 2025. The Canadian enters this week after standing on the podium five times in his last six X Games appearances. Your final medal contender in this bracket is the highly experienced Mons Røisland. The Norwegian enjoys a 57.14% podium success rate in his previous seven X Games starts, but he’s never bagged the top honors.

Swiss star Mathile Gremaud drops in for her final medal opportunity of XG Aspen 2026 on Sunday morning. Gremaud has never tasted victory in this event, but she has come close, notching up three runner-ups in the past four years. She is considered by many as the best women’s slopestyle skier on the planet, and started this season strong with a triumph in Stubai last November. The 2023 women’s ski slopestyle winner, Megan Oldham, lines up as a serious threat to the gold medal. She’s spent the last year focusing on rotating in all directions and has managed to execute better double turns like the switch 1260.
Oldham just missed out on the medals last year, after returning from injury, but she’s dialled in this year, and is looking to denyGremaud that maiden slopestyle title. Rounding out the contenders is another Canadian, Olivia Asselin. She goes about her business diligently and is the only woman skier to win XG medals in four disciplines (big air, slopestyle, streetstyle, and knuckle huck). The 2025 Aspen silver medalist lines up here in some form, after ending runner-up to Gremaud in Austria last year.

Few gentlemen have managed to wrestle control of the men’s slopestyle ski competition, with 18 different winners of 26 gold medals. Luca Harrington, the youngest skier on the roster, is back to attempt a title defence. The Kiwi hasn’t rested on his laurels, reportedly executing a switch 1980 in training last year. If he can pull it off, the judges should reward him handsomely, aiding his title defence ambitions.
Serial podium finisher Mac Forehand is hoping that 2026 is the year that he finally takes the gold. His ambitions were boosted in early January when he took first prize at an event in Aspen. He lines up after finishing on the rostrum every year since 2023. His closest run came three years ago when he finished runner-up to two-time slopestyle gold-medalist Colby Stevenson. Speaking of experienced skiers, Utah’s Alex Hall is in the lineup and only two medals shy of becoming the most medalled skier in X Games history. That honor currently belongs to Henrik Harlaut on 14.
