Brogan Carder set for World of Outlaws debut at Charlotte World Finals

Carder’s Charlotte debut

Carder is moving onto a bigger stage. The 16-year-old sprint car driver from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is set to make his World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series debut at The Dirt Track at Charlotte during World Finals after finishing his second American Sprint Car Series season. The step gives him a new test and adds another milestone to a career that has moved quickly for a driver still early in his teens. Carder has already taken select 410 sprint car starts, including races at Jackson Motorplex and Huset’s Speedway, and that experience gives him a base for the jump even if Charlotte brings a fresh challenge. He said the track will be different from the places he knows, and that alone makes the debut a meaningful one. First-time laps at a new track often reveal how much a driver can adapt on the fly, and Carder will face that test while stepping into the World of Outlaws field. For a young driver with a growing schedule, the Charlotte start marks another milestone.

Carder’s sophomore season

Carder’s second American Sprint Car Series season gave him results he can build on. He finished eighth in the points standings and called the year a major step forward in qualifying, points runs and feature finishes. The season included several notable results. He opened the season slowly, then improved later in the year. His best finish came with a fifth at Sheridan Speedway, a career high that showed he could post a strong finish when the car and the race lined up in his favor. He also put together a steady stretch with three straight ninth-place finishes at Texarkana 67 Speedway, Dodge City Raceway Park and Viking Speedway, then backed that up with an eighth at 81 Speedway. Those results add to his season record. Carder said changes in his driving style and car setup helped the progress. His season did more than produce a points finish. It gave him a record he can carry into a World of Outlaws start.

Carder’s Knoxville path

Carder’s next target is already in view. After turning 16, he became eligible to race at Knoxville Raceway, and he said he is eager to get there. He is looking ahead to a Knoxville debut in the future, with the Knoxville Nationals and the 360 Knoxville Nationals part of the appeal once he gets the chance to compete there. Charlotte will give him a first look at a new environment, while Knoxville represents the next destination he wants on his schedule. The sequence now includes a Charlotte debut, a season in which he improved and a future Knoxville goal. For Carder, the progression is the story.
