Leary dominates
C.J. Leary won the 72nd Ted Horn 100 at Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Illinois by controlling the race from start to finish. He started second and led all 100 laps. Stockon won qualifying and rolled off on the pole, but he never found a way around Leary and settled for second, 1.840 seconds back. The victory gave Leary his second straight Ted Horn 100 win, his eighth career USAC Silver Crown victory and his third win of the 2026 season. It also extended his run of top-five finishes in series races to 14 straight, a series record.
Chase Stockon, Briggs Danner
Briggs Danner delivered the biggest climb through the order. He started 16th, finished third and earned the Hard Charger award for the run. Justin Grant followed in fourth and Jake Swanson came home fifth. Jimmy Light’s race ended with a flip on lap 15, and he was scored 19th in the feature results.
Points race, lead
Leary’s win carried more weight in the championship chase. He left Du Quoin with the series points lead at 555 and a clear cushion over Grant, who stood second at 474. Leary grew that advantage from 69 points to 81 with the victory, a result that strengthened his hold on the top spot in the USAC Silver Crown standings. The combination of race control, steady pace and another perfect run from the second starting position gave Leary a clean answer to the pressure around him and kept the title picture centered on the driver who has set the standard in the series this season.
