Horner payout details

The compensation for loss of office closed the door on a run of more than two decades with Red Bull. UK Companies House filings showed how the payment was divided between Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technologies. Red Bull Racing paid Horner £33.494 million in severance and £4.441 million in annual remuneration. Red Bull Technologies paid Horner £66.988 million in severance and £9.029 million in directorial remuneration. The figures showed how the package was divided between the two companies.

Horner exit and clearance

Horner was removed as Red Bull Racing CEO and team principal after an allegation of inappropriate behavior inside the team. He denied wrongdoing and was cleared by two investigations. Those findings did not restore his role, and his departure became permanent once the settlement was completed. Horner later said he had six years left on his contract when he was dismissed, a detail that added another layer to the exit. The payout and the end of his role reflected the break between Horner and Red Bull after more than 20 years of association. The removal marked a sharp end to a long chapter. The compensation package, the internal allegations and the subsequent exonerations all became part of the same story, one that moved from team control to settlement and then into the public record through the filing process.

Horner future plans

Since leaving Red Bull, Horner has been linked with a return to Formula 1 and has been looking at potential projects to get back into a leadership role. That search has kept him in the frame for a move back into the sport even after his exit from one of its teams. Horner also pointed toward Ferrari when he said it would be “the dream.” The comment indicated where his ambitions remain focused. He also congratulated Red Bull and Max Verstappen on the team’s first victory with Ford powertrains, a message that showed he has kept a close eye on the organization he left behind.
