Moles ends drought

Mitchel Moles broke through Friday night at Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, winning the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship feature in a race held in memory of Ashlea Albertson. The pole starter led all 30 laps, ending his three-month winless streak. He also picked up his first victory at Circle City Raceway. The win paid $8,222. Jake Swanson finished second, 3.909 seconds back. The victory came in an event held in Albertson’s memory.

Circle City record

Moles’ winning time of 6:43.614 set a new track record. Kevin Thomas Jr. finished third, C.J. Leary took fourth and Kyle Cummins came home fifth, giving the feature a clear top five behind Moles. The record added another accomplishment to Moles’ Circle City victory.

Moles adds milestone

Friday night’s feature was Moles’ seventh series victory of the year. It also pushed his career count to 12 USAC National Sprint Car victories, tying him with Eric Gordon for 49th on the all-time list. Moles left Indianapolis with a first win at the venue, a track record, an $8,222 top prize and another step forward in the record book. The victory also ended his three-month winless streak.
