Guiton wreck aftermath
Guiton was shaken up during Carolina’s opening-round win over the New York Mavericks at the 2026 PBR Teams Championship after a frightening wreck that left him on the dirt motionless. He was awake and moving his arms and legs after the wreck, then later walked to sports medicine. He said, “I feel great.” Guiton’s status for the rest of the event remained uncertain after the fall.
Guiton Saturday absence
Guiton will not ride in Carolina’s Saturday quarterfinal matchup against the No. 3 Nashville Stampede. He could potentially return Sunday if he feels well and clears medical checks, but his status remains uncertain. Carolina will face Nashville without him in the quarterfinal while the team waits to see whether he can return later in the event.
Carolina advances
Carolina earned its quarterfinal place by taking the lead with rides from Thiago Salgado and Adriano Salgado, then holding off New York, 178.65-89.25. The result set up the Saturday quarterfinal against Nashville. Carolina advanced, while Guiton’s wreck left the team preparing for the next round without him and awaiting word on a possible Sunday return.
