Erb wins opener
Tyler Erb won the inaugural World of Outlaws Corn Belt Showdown at Southern Iowa Speedway on Wednesday night, and he did it with speed from the start and control at the end. Erb set quick time in qualifying, then worked through the field and passed Dallon Murty, Ethan Dotson and Dustin Sorensen to take the lead. A lap 14 caution involving Trey Mills and Sorensen briefly moved Sorensen into first, but Erb got back to the front and won by 2.1 seconds. The victory was Erb’s fourth World of Outlaws Late Model Series win of the season and his eighth career series win.
Southern Iowa finishers
Erb’s run came after he switched to the chassis he last ran in the Dirt Late Model Dream following a rollover crash at Maquoketa Speedway. The change gave him the equipment he needed to stay in control once he retook the lead. Dotson finished second for his best result of the season, while Sorensen was third for his first World of Outlaws podium of 2026. Daulton Wilson and Bobby Pierce rounded out the top five at Southern Iowa Speedway.
