Muniz title run
Frankie Muniz said his biggest racing success of the season came in sports cars, and the result backed up the claim. Muniz won the Pirelli GT4 America Am Class title with co-driver Tyler Stone in a Ford Mustang GT4, giving him a championship he described as a new and exciting experience in his racing career. The title capped a busy run across multiple disciplines, and Muniz said he competed in 42 races this season. He said he wants to keep racing sports cars after the championship.
Ford GT3 future
Muniz is already in talks for a possible step up to the Ford Mustang GT3 EVO, and he said that move could happen as early as 2027. Ford is helping guide his next move, which gives the conversation extra weight as he maps out the next stage of his racing career. Muniz said he is interested in endurance races such as the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, two events that fit the long-distance path he wants to explore. His FIA Bronze rating could make a Le Mans or World Endurance Championship effort possible, which keeps the door open to a broader international schedule. That makes the GT3 conversation more than a simple upgrade. It points to a potential shift in the type of racing Muniz wants to chase, from sprint-style competition in the Mustang GT4 to longer events that demand different pace, strategy and stamina. The championship gave him a platform, and he now sees the next step as a real possibility rather than a distant idea.
NASCAR return plan
Muniz said he is not finished in NASCAR, and he expects to race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2027 in some capacity, either part-time or full-time. He also expects to continue with Team Reaume, where he has driven the No. 33 Ford. That keeps one part of his racing future tied to the stock-car ladder even as he looks at sports cars and endurance events. Muniz began stock car racing in ARCA in 2023, and he has already made Truck Series starts. He finished fifth at Michigan in a Truck Series race in 2023 and earned a top-10 finish at Daytona in 2025, results that give him something to build on if he returns to the series again. The NASCAR piece stays part of the plan, even with the sports-car title now at the center of his season. Muniz has put together a schedule that spans several forms of racing, and his comments show he wants to keep that range intact.
