Miller’s milestone

Gavin Miller won the Bomb City 40 at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, for his first career USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car feature victory. The 19-year-old from Allentown, Pennsylvania, led all 40 laps and finished 6.953 seconds ahead of the field to collect $10,000. The victory came in only his 15th series start.

The race changed quickly behind Miller when a multi-car opening-lap incident involving Justin Grant scrambled the field. Cale Coons finished second, Grant was third, Jake Swanson took fourth and Mitchel Moles placed fifth. The result gave Miller a milestone victory.
