Justin Grant victory
Justin Grant won the 30-lap USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship feature at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana, on Thursday. Grant started from the pole and led the opening three laps. Logan Seavey took the lead on lap four and paced the field from laps four through 19. Grant regained command with 11 laps remaining and held the lead the rest of the way. He survived late restarts and crossed the finish 1.684 seconds ahead. The win snapped a seven-year drought for Grant in Indiana Midget Week competition, his previous Week victory coming at Gas City in 2019. The result also ended the longest gap between wins in the 22-year history of Indiana Midget Week.
Race dynamics and finishing order
Grant’s race featured several momentum swings. Seavey’s midrace charge set up a tense closing segment that included multiple restart challenges for the leader. Cannon McIntosh produced the biggest move through the field, climbing from ninth to second and taking hard-charger honors for gaining seven positions. McIntosh passed Seavey on the final lap to secure second place. Seavey held on for third. Karter Sarff finished fourth and Jacob Denney rounded out the top five. Sarff had shown early speed, posting the fastest qualifying lap at Lincoln Park with a 12.643-second effort. The final laps tested traffic management and restarts, and Grant’s ability to retake the lead and control the closing laps proved decisive.
Career totals, standings and milestones
The Lincoln Park victory was Grant’s 22nd career USAC National Midget win, tying him for 28th on the all-time USAC National Midget list. Across USAC’s three national divisions, the win moved him to 98 national victories, two short of 100. The result also reshaped the national midget points race. Grant leads the USAC national midget standings with 330 points. Jacob Denney and Jakeb Boxell are tied for second at 327 points. The Lincoln Park feature represented the 100th Indiana Midget Week event since the series began in 2005, a milestone that framed Grant’s return to Week victory lane and underlined the historical weight of his breakthrough.
