Holmes takes control
National sprint car drivers raced at Ransomville Speedway in Ransomville, New York, on Thursday in a 30-lap High Limit Racing main event, with Sye Lynch and Tanner Holmes starting on the front row. Holmes worked his way to the front and took the lead with 24 laps remaining. The move put him in position to close out the feature, but his run changed in an instant when he hit the wall and brought out a red flag. That stoppage reset the race and opened the door for the cars behind him. The restart turned the final stretch into a sprint to the finish, with the lead up for grabs after Holmes’ incident.
Ruetzel finishes it
Aaron Ruetzel took advantage of the restart and inherited the lead at Ransomville Speedway. He then defended it in the closing laps and held off Tyler Courtney to secure the victory. The finish gave Ruetzel the payoff after a race shaped by track position, a late lead change and the red flag that followed Holmes’ crash into the wall. Courtney stayed close enough to challenge, but Ruetzel stayed in front to end the night with the win.
