Bezzecchi wins Indonesian Grand Prix as Aprilia takes top four

NXTbets Pro | Published On: October 11, 2026

Bezzecchi wins race

Marco Bezzecchi won the Indonesian Grand Prix by 4.260 seconds and gave Aprilia the victory on a day that ended with the Italian at the front and the field chasing him. Bezzecchi passed Raul Fernandez on lap 19 of 27, then stretched the lead to the flag. The result came after a weekend in which he showed front-running pace from the start. He topped Saturday practice with a lap of 1:29.560, 0.174 seconds ahead of Fernandez and 0.311 seconds ahead of Marc Marquez. He backed that up in warm-up, where he led Fernandez by 0.043 seconds and Marquez finished third. Bezzecchi also had already lived through the chaos of the opening corner in the sprint, when a controversial incident pulled him and Fernandez into a crash that also involved Marquez and Fabio di Giannantonio.

Marquez wins sprint

Marc Marquez put his stamp on the weekend first. He won the 13-lap Indonesian MotoGP sprint at Mandalika on Saturday and moved to the top of the 2026 world championship standings for the first time this season. Ai Ogura finished second and Di Giannantonio took third, while Jorge Martin ran near the front for much of the race before finishing fourth. The sprint turned early at the first corner. Marquez still came through with the win and the points lead, giving him the first major shift in the title race on the weekend. The grand prix grid also reflected how tight the front end was. Fernandez took pole position for Sunday’s race, his first pole of the 2026 season, while Marquez qualified fourth and Martin qualified fifth. That set up three riders who had already been inside the lead group to start Sunday from strong positions.

Aprilia sweeps

Aprilia closed the weekend with a milestone result, its first 1-2-3-4 finish in MotoGP. Fernandez finished second behind Bezzecchi, Martin took third and Ogura came home fourth. The sweep gave Aprilia a complete grip on the top of the order and underlined how much speed the brand carried across the full weekend. Fernandez’s run stood out because it came after the crash in the sprint, where he fractured his right index finger, and after a warm-up in which he struggled to brake. He still found enough to hold second in the grand prix. Martin’s third-place finish mattered just as much in the title fight. His podium sent him back to the top of the MotoGP standings by two points. Marquez, who had led the standings after his sprint victory, finished sixth in the grand prix and left Mandalika with a sharp swing in momentum. Bezzecchi took the race win, Martin took the points lead and Aprilia took the headline team result.
