
Max Verstappen wins Singapore Sprint, claims first Singapore pole

Verstappen won the Singapore Sprint, with Lewis Hamilton second, 2.5 seconds behind, and Charles Leclerc third. Hamilton said his wet-weather “mega start” was the key to his runner-up finish. Leclerc held off Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris for the final podium place before the McLaren drivers collided on the last lap.
Pole position
Verstappen took pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay. It was his first pole in Singapore, achieved at the 10th attempt. He secured it with a lap of 1m31.373s, which gave him his 50th career Formula 1 pole.
Singapore qualifying order
Leclerc qualified second, just 0.054 seconds behind Verstappen, and Hamilton followed in third after leading Q1 and Q2. Antonelli took fourth and Norris qualified fifth. Russell was sixth in the session, but an engine penalty left him set to start from the back of the grid. Piastri qualified seventh. Hadjar failed to set a timed lap in Q1 and was also set to start from the back.
