Nashville Took Lead
Nashville Stampede took control of the PBR Teams standings after opening night of Cowboy Days in Greensboro, North Carolina, and it did it by winning twice and moving past Missouri. The Stampede and Missouri Thunder entered the night tied at 15-6, but Nashville left in first place at 16-6 after beating the hometown Carolina Cowboys 260.75-88.75 and edging the Texas Rattlers 87.60-86. Missouri Stumbled Hard
Missouri still opened the night with a strong result, beating the Austin Gamblers 262.30-176.25. The Thunder could not keep that momentum. Oklahoma Wildcatters upset Missouri 263.75-261.85 later in the card and snapped the Thunder’s four-game winning streak. That loss was enough to let Nashville move ahead after the two clubs started the night level in the standings. Paulo Eduardo Rossetto also extended his PBR Teams record with a 15th straight qualified ride in the matchup with Oklahoma, adding another milestone to a close contest that went against Missouri. The Thunder’s night showed both ends of the board. It posted a wide win over Austin, then lost a tighter battle with Oklahoma that decided the top spot. Missouri left Greensboro with a split and a drop from first, while Nashville turned its own pair of wins into the new lead. The four-game streak ended in a matchup that came down to a narrow scoreboard edge, and the Thunder had no answer for Oklahoma after looking sharp earlier in the night.
Other Results Rolled
The rest of the card brought more movement. The New York Mavericks edged the Arizona Ridge Riders on a walk-off ride from Marco Rizzo, giving New York one of the night’s sharpest finishes. The Texas Rattlers defeated the Florida Freedom, and the Austin Gamblers beat the Kansas City Outlaws. Those results added to a night that already featured Nashville’s climb and Missouri’s stumble. Texas also had its own narrow setback against the Stampede, losing 87.60-86 as Nashville kept pace at the top. The list of winners stretched across the board, from a walk-off ride in New York’s matchup to straightforward wins for Texas and Austin. Greensboro opened Cowboy Days with a slate that included close scores, a blowout and a late ride that settled a matchup at the finish. By the end of the night, Nashville sat alone in first, Missouri had been pulled back and the rest of the field had added its own marks to the standings chase.
