MotoGP Demo Set for COTA During Formula 1 Weekend

NXTbets Pro | Published On: October 20, 2026

MotoGP demo

MotoGP will put four premier-class bikes on track in a high-speed demonstration at the Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, marking the first time the series has been included during a Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend. Dani Pedrosa, Nicolo Bulega, Andrea Dovizioso and Lorenzo Savadori will ride in the run, which is scheduled for 20 minutes before Formula 1 Free Practice 3. The appearance brings MotoGP’s premier class into the Formula 1 event and places it before the Formula 1 crowd. MotoGP also will operate a fan activation in the Circuit of The Americas Fan Zone throughout the weekend, giving supporters another way to see the series. Teams and riders will remain onsite from Thursday through Sunday, which turns the visit into a full weekend presence and not just a single exhibition slot. The setup places MotoGP inside the rhythm of the Formula 1 event, with the demo leading directly into the next session on the schedule and the fan zone extending the series’ footprint across the grounds.

COTA weekend

The MotoGP appearance fits into a United States Grand Prix weekend at Circuit of The Americas, where Formula 1 practice begins Friday and the race is set for Sunday. More than 400,000 fans are expected across the event, giving the demonstration a sizable audience beyond the traditional MotoGP calendar. The weekend brings MotoGP into the broader Formula 1 event while keeping the main Formula 1 schedule in place. Together, the track demonstration, fan activation and onsite presence give MotoGP a presence across the weekend. The weekend brings the two series together while keeping their schedules distinct.

2027 MotoGP return

The showcase also points toward MotoGP’s next step in the United States. The series is building toward its 2027 Grand Prix of the United States, which will return to Circuit of The Americas, and the Formula 1 weekend offers an early look at MotoGP’s presence on American soil. Bringing four premier-class bikes to Austin gives the series a chance to place its top category in the Formula 1 event. MotoGP’s fan activation, the on-track demo and the full weekend of team and rider presence give the visit more than a single track appearance. The Formula 1 stage gives MotoGP a platform before the return of the United States Grand Prix in 2027. At COTA, MotoGP gets a platform to reach a U.S. crowd.
