Nashville tops Carolina for fifth straight win

Carolina Cowboys split
Carolina opened with a walk-off win over Arizona in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Sunday, and Adriano Salgado supplied the ride that decided it. Greensboro gave Carolina both ends of the spectrum, a close call against Arizona and a lopsided loss to Nashville. The Stampede’s result also showed depth, with three different riders posting points in the same match.
Missouri Thunder rise
Missouri reclaimed the No. 1 ranking after it beat the Florida Freedom 262.40-0, a shutout that pushed the Thunder back to the top of the PBR Teams standings. Oklahoma answered with one of the weekend’s biggest upsets, taking down Missouri 263.75-261.85. The Thunder’s quick rise and equally quick stumble showed how fast the standings can move in this format. Paulo Eduardo Rossetto added his own marker by making his 15th straight qualified ride, extending a PBR Teams record even as the results around him kept changing. Kansas City also beat Oklahoma 260.40-176.40. The Florida Freedom also fell to Texas, a reminder that several clubs took hits across the card. Missouri’s shutout over Florida looked like a reset, but Oklahoma’s upset added another twist to the weekend. The combination of a shutout, a narrow upset and a record streak made Missouri and Oklahoma central to the weekend’s movement. Rossetto’s run gave the card one of its clearest individual storylines.
Austin Gamblers roll
Austin added two more results to the weekend, beating the Nashville Stampede 176.95-174.85 and the Kansas City Outlaws. That gave the Gamblers a pair of wins in a card packed with close finishes and lopsided totals. New York produced one of the strongest scoring outputs in the set, beating the Texas Rattlers 267.20-89 and then edging the Arizona Ridge Riders on a walk-off ride by Marco Rizzo. Arizona went from one tight loss to another, first against Carolina and then against New York, with both finishes coming down to the final ride. The Texas Rattlers also beat the Florida Freedom, which rounded out another busy set of matchups across the league. The New York win over Texas stood out for its size, and the later walk-off over Arizona showed the Mavericks could win both with power and with pressure. That mix of results left the standings in motion and pointed the field toward the next stop. PBR Teams will resume at Rattler Days in Fort Worth, Texas.
