He said it was not deliberate and answered, “He spun.” He also said he had no real interest in talking to Keselowski about the incident and offered no apology. When he replied, “I’ll tighten my belts,” he left the exchange as blunt as the contact itself. He left Darlington 12th in the standings, 89 points behind leader Denny Hamlin, putting his playoff position into sharp focus after the opening event.
