RDV Surf maps strategy around WSL circuit, Interclub League and Surf Summit Peru

NXTbets Pro | Published On: November 5, 2026

Summit draws

RDV Surf used its sponsor summit at Club Pacífico Sur to put its long-range plan in front of a broad room of stakeholders, bringing together sponsors, sports authorities, elected mayors and surfers around the same table. The message was clear. The organization wants to connect elite competition with local development, and it used the gathering to present a road map aimed at Los Angeles along with its strategic plan. That approach puts sport and destination building on the same track, with Punta Hermosa and Pacasmayo at the center of the conversation. Javier Ramírez, Max Ampuero and Mario Alegría highlighted institutional support for consolidating both locations as surf and sustainable tourism destinations, a reminder that the group sees its work as more than a competition calendar. It wants the region to gain from the events it stages and from the attention those events bring. The summit gave RDV Surf a chance to show that the project is built around continuity, local backing and a clear public message about where the sport can go next.

Circuit expands

Marcel Miranda laid out the competitive side of that plan by presenting the regional WSL QS circuit and a slate of events. The centerpiece among those events is the Billabong Señoritas Open Pro presented by Wong. Miranda’s presentation linked the circuit to RDV Surf’s wider push, showing how the organization wants its events to work together rather than stand alone. The summit was not just about one contest. It was about building a structure that gives surfers, sponsors and local officials a shared map of the year. That is why the circuit presentation mattered. It turned the talk from broad ambition to specific competitive action, with a tour framework that can support the organization’s strategy and give the region a consistent presence in the sport. By putting the circuit in front of a mixed audience of civic and sporting leaders, RDV Surf showed it wants the schedule to serve both performance and promotion.

Strategy pillars

Sebastián Rubio said RDV Surf’s strategy rests on three pillars, the WSL professional circuit, the Interclub League and Surf Summit Peru as a B2B platform. That framework gives the organization a way to connect high-level competition, club development and business networking under one umbrella. The results from the previous Señoritas Open Pro help explain why that model has traction. The event drew 184 athletes from six countries, generated more than 100,000 streaming views and produced more than $1.3 million in media value. Those numbers give RDV Surf a concrete example of what a well-run surf event can deliver in participation, reach and visibility. The next edition will move because of El Niño Costero, a change that shows how the organization is adjusting its schedule to local conditions while keeping the event in place. Taken together, the summit, the circuit presentation and the event metrics point to the same goal. RDV Surf wants a stable competitive base, stronger institutional support and a platform that can keep surf relevant both on the water and in the wider tourism economy.
