Reutzel Wins Butler
Aaron Reutzel won the High Limit Racing feature at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Michigan, after a direct fight with Tanner Thorson at the front of the 30-lap race. Thorson and Reutzel started on the front row and traded the lead early as the race settled in. Tyler Courtney moved into second and stayed in the mix behind the leaders. Thorson later pulled to the pit lane with an issue, and Reutzel took the lead when the battle at the front ended. From there, he had to handle lapped traffic and he held on to the finish. The win came from control under pressure. It also came after a race that gave both drivers a chance to race from the best possible spot on the grid. Once Thorson left the fight, Reutzel made the most of the opening and closed out the feature. That made the Butler race a clear example of a driver taking over when the opportunity arrived and then protecting the advantage to the checkered flag.
Thorson Wins Route 66
Tanner Thorson answered with a win in the High Limit Sprint Car Series A Feature at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, in another 30-lap main event. Thorson won the dash to earn the pole and led from the front row. Kerry Madsen was fastest in qualifying, but Thorson converted track position into the lead and kept it when the race was red-flagged after a car flipped off turn four. He pulled away late to secure the victory. Aaron Reutzel finished second, Justin Peck placed third, Daison Pursley ran fourth, Tanner Holmes took fifth and Brent Marks came home sixth. The finish list showed a tight race behind Thorson once the event got back under green. Thorson stayed ahead when the laps mattered most, and he backed up the speed he showed in the dash with the pace he needed at the end of the feature.
High Limit Split
The two races gave High Limit a split between Thorson and Reutzel. Thorson took the Route 66 win after leading from the front row, and Reutzel responded at Butler after the front-runners traded the lead early and Thorson went to the pit lane with an issue. Both victories came in 30-lap races, and both were built on strong starts and sharp closing work. Courtney’s move into second at Butler kept the front of that race honest before Reutzel took over. The Route 66 result behind Thorson gave that event a clear top six, with Peck, Pursley, Holmes and Marks filling the next four spots. Across both features, the key edges came from position, restarts and the ability to hold pace when the field tightened. Thorson and Reutzel each found a way to the checkered flag. They just took different roads to get there.
