Formula 1: Spanish Grand Prix

Formula 1 caps off a triple header leg with the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday, June 1st. Sir Lewis Hamilton starts the weekend tied for the winningest driver at this circuit, alongside the great Michael Schumacher with six triumphs. Hamilton last took the checkered at this venue in 2021, but found himself on the podium on his last visit behind Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.

Verstappen is creating history of his own at this venue, podiuming in eight of his last nine visits. “Mad Max” is also a four-time victor in Spain, standing on the top of the podium in his last three visits. Red Bull and Mercedes are responsible for the last 11 wins on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with Mercedes contributing seven of those successes.

MotoAmerica takes on the road course at Elkhart Lake for three days of thrilling competition from Friday, May 30th, to Sunday, June 1st. Supersport, Superbike, and King of the Baggers racers are in action for their third round in the 2025 season. Friday is reserved for practice and the first qualifying session, before bikers shift into race mode on Saturday and Sunday.

Cameron Beaubier starts the weekend as the man to beat in the Superbike series, carrying a 23-point lead over Jake Gagne. Revenge is looking good for PJ Jacobsen in the early stages of the Supersport division, leading the series over reigning champion Mathew Scholtz. One man is making the King of the Baggers competition his own, and his name is Kyle Wyman. He takes a 34-point lead into Wisconsin, winning three out of four races this year.

The fastest cars in a straight line hit the asphalt in New Hampshire this weekend. Funny Cars, Top Fuel, and Pro Stock vehicles blast off down the dragway from Friday, May 30th, to June 1st for the seventh round of NHRA action in 2025. Competitors accelerate down the New England Dragway for the first time on Friday afternoon for the qualifying sessions. More qualifying rounds ensue on Saturday, before the elimination battles take shape on Sunday.

Tony Stewart rolls into Epping as the Top Fuel leader, with Shawn Langdon and Antron Brown close behind. The next driver to watch is Austin Prock, who lines up with a healthy cushion over Jack Beckman and co in the Funny Car bracket. Finally, Dallas Glenn leads the Pro Stock race by 11 points from Greg Anderson, putting the two in a class of their own this campaign.

Round two of the 2025 Motocross Championship brings the best dirtbike racers on the planet to Prairie City SVRA for the Hangtown Motocross Classic. Prepare yourself for a marathon of racing as the 450 class hits the track for practice at 8:50 a.m. PDT, and the gate drops on the ultimate race of the day (Moto #2) at 4:30 p.m.

Chase Sexton owned this event last year, winning the Moto #1 and #2 races. Event favorite Jett Lawrence enters after trips inside Victory Lane in both starts at Fox Raceway International a week ago. However, he struggled in Rancho Cordova last year, managing a 24th and sixth in his two appearances.

Discs take off in Portland, Oregon, on Thursday, May 29th, for the DGPT+ Northwest Disc Golf Championship. It’s a rare four-round event to find out which pro has the stamina to string four solid rounds together. The current series leader, Gannon Buhr, is the defending champion in the MPO bracket in this event, triumphing by eight shots in 2024 ahead of Cole Redalen.

Paige Pierce begins her title defence on Thursday morning. Up until the PDGA Champions Cup, Pierce hadn’t finished inside the top 10 after four tournaments. However, she bounced back in the first major of the year to finish third, before backing it up with a runner-up in Washington State. Series leader Holyn Handley finished second in Oregon last year, and she’s on a roll this year, ending every tournament inside the top five.

Formula Drift: Scorched Orlando

The third round of the 2025 Formula Drift drops the clutch at the Orlando Speed World on May 30- 31st. Drifters get a feel for the surface on Friday in the warm-ups and seeding bracket rounds, but the business end of proceedings is scheduled for Saturday afternoon and evening. The Top 32 enter the circuit at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31st, with the survivors stamping their ticket to the final 16.

Series leaders James Deane and Fredric Aasbo remain the drifters to beat in Florida, after each entering Victory Lane once this season. Deane enjoyed better luck than Aasbo on his previous visit to Orlando, making the final, but losing out to his compatriot Conor Shanahan. Aasbo found himself packing his bags after a top 32 defeat at the hands of Diego Higa.

After consecutive events were rained out in Indiana, the AMSOIL National Sprint Championship moves to Iowa for a doubleheader. The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame City, Knoxville, hosts the USAC contingent on May 30th and May 31st, with drivers lining up on the grid at 6:45 p.m. CT on both days.

Kyle Cummins is the in-form driver, entering Victory Lane in four of his previous seven appearances. He starts with a  67-point buffer at the top of the standings, chased by Justin Grant and Logan Seavey. Robert Ballou has struggled this season, but appears to be on the straight and narrow. Ballou has claimed three top fives, including two podiums, in his previous four races.

The first leg of the World of Outlaws Northern Tour hits the quarter-mile high-banked River Cities Speedway on Friday, May 30th. Carson Macedo and Giovani Scelzi excelled on this track last year, averaging 2.5 in their two visits, both winning one and finishing fourth in another. Macedo starts in Grand Forks on a high after prevailing in the Chillicothe Classic on Monday night.

Hot Laps take to the dirt track at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with the racing to follow. Can Carson pick up from where he left off, or will David Gravel win his ninth WoO Sprint Cars encounter of the campaign?

Lawrenceburg welcomes the High Rollers for one night only on Friday, May 30th, for the Drive2SaveLives Battle at the ‘Burg. Exciting news for fans is the confirmation that defending Lawrenceburg Speedway Champion Kyle Larson will line up on the grid. The sprint car legend has only started six HLR races this campaign, winning once and taking second-place twice.

Organizers are expecting a 7:30 p.m. racing start that will feature on FloRacing as Brad Sweet fights to increase his lead in the series. The second-placed driver, Tyler Courtney, isn’t in winning form this term, but he’s remained consistent, only dropping outside of the top 10 once. Keep an eye on Rico Abreu starts with four victories in 2025, the winningest driver in the series.
