Welsh sparked Kansas City
Five PBR Teams riders returned from the PRCA circuit for the stretch run to Las Vegas, and all five had National Finals Rodeo trips already secured. John Crimber, Hayden Welsh, Qynn Andersen, Hudson Bolton and Josh Frost each finished inside the PRCA bull riding top 15, then shifted back to the team race for the closing stretch. Welsh made a team impact in Fort Worth. He helped the Kansas City Outlaws beat the New York Mavericks with an 86.10-point ride on XIT Socks In A Box. The result moved Kansas City into eighth place and gave the Outlaws a key lift as the lineup tightened for the final push. The return of a rider who had already proven he could score on both circuits gave Kansas City another option in the arena, and Welsh delivered when the Outlaws needed it most.
Bolton answered in return
Bolton gave New York a strong individual answer in the same event. He returned after breaking his jaw in August and rode Cowboy Playboy for 86.75 points. Bolton had gone 4-for-4 since his return, a run that gave the Mavericks a rider they could trust when the pressure rose. His score did not change the outcome against Kansas City. Bolton’s comeback also fit the larger story around the PBR Teams slate. The riders who spent time on the PRCA circuit had returned to the team mix, and Bolton had already turned his return into a steady streak. New York got a scorer who could put a number on the board, and Bolton got a chance to keep building on a clean run since rejoining the lineup.
Texas got reinforcements
Texas welcomed back Andersen and Frost, but the Rattlers did not get a scoring ride from either one in Fort Worth. Their return still mattered to Texas, even if this night did not produce a score. That gave Texas two more names in the lineup for the final stretch, even if this night did not produce a score. Crimber remained out with a groin injury, and he had been helping Florida by working behind the chutes. He remained involved without getting back on the bull yet. The bigger picture was clear. These riders had moved between the PRCA and PBR Teams races with bigger goals still in front of them, and Fort Worth showed how much each return could matter to a lineup that was trying to make the most of the stretch run.
