Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Plessinger split after five seasons together, closing a run that delivered wins and podiums. The move came after the SMX World Championship, ending a partnership that began when Plessinger joined KTM. He left with a résumé built on podiums and wins for the program. Plessinger said the five seasons with KTM ranked among the best of his career. Team manager Ian Harrison also thanked Plessinger for his professionalism, personality and results. Plessinger earned 24 podiums for KTM, with 11 in 450SX and 13 in 450MX, a split that shows how often he put himself near the front in both championship disciplines. He also won two Supercross races for KTM. His first career 450SX victory came in San Diego, a breakthrough that turned a strong ride into a win. He followed that with another career victory at Foxborough, adding a second trip to the top step. His outdoor results added to those indoor results. Plessinger finished third in the 450MX standings, underlining his value when the series moved outside. The results came across formats, with podium totals in both disciplines.

Plessinger also made appearances for Team USA at the Motocross of Nations. He is expected to ride for Triumph Factory Racing next, a move that would give him a fresh start after five seasons with KTM. He exits KTM with two Supercross wins, 24 podiums and a third-place finish in the 450MX standings. For KTM, the parting ends his five-season run. For Plessinger, it opens the door to another opportunity.
