Antron Brown (+556)

The defending Top Fuel Series Champion, Antron Brown, arrives in North Carolina off the back of his second final this season. Brown finished runner-up to Tony Stewart in Las Vegas, the first time he’s raced in a final since the season opener. The 65-time Top Fuel winner drove into the final here in 2024, finishing in last place.

Shawn Langdon (+655)

Shawn Langdon leads the series as the Top Fuel class lines up at the zMax Dragway, despite exiting the competition in E1 in Las Vegas. Langdon has lined up in two finals already this campaign, winning the Arizona Nationals. The Californian starts with a 16-point Championship lead over last week’s victor, Stewart.

Doug Kalitta (+700)

A runner-up finish at the Arizona Nationals was as good as it’s gotten for Doug Kalitta this year. Otherwise, the Michigander has exited every event in E2, but somehow remains in fourth in the series.

Justin Ashley (+704)

Justin Ashley journeys to Concord to defend the Top Fuel title he bagged on his last visit. On that occasion, Ashley edged out Clay Millican last year by 0.012 seconds in the final to take the crown. Ashley is hot off his best return in 2025, finishing third in the 4-Wide Nationals in Vegas.

Brittany Force (+748)

Another round of Top Fuel racing, where Brittany Force is the favorite to record the fastest E.T. The Top Fuel national record holder has struggled to piece together a clean weekend in 2025 and is yet to start in a final race. She progressed into E2 but was knocked out after finishing third.

Tony Stewart (+956)

Tony Stewart enters with the odds of a longshot despite starting in the last two finals. Stewart lost out to Clay Millican in the Winternationals but took the win in the first four-wide event of the season. Stewart offers the best value for money this weekend based on current form, but he’ll have to up his game on a track where he only progressed into E2 last year.

Expert Pick – Top Fuel

Antron Brown earns our confidence in the Top Fuel division this weekend after finishing second in Las Vegas. The favorite has a win and a runner-up to his name in the first four rounds of the season, highlighting his consistency. Brown starts with +556 odds, potentially paying $131.20 on a $20 wager.

After an erratic start to his campaign, including dual E1 exits, Austin Prock flourished in Nevada. Prock crossed the line 0.033 seconds ahead of Paul Lee to win his first final of the year. The Pittsboro native has climbed the standings and is now closing in on Jack Beckman in second.

Jack Beckman (+495)

Jack Beckman failed to back up his win at the Winternationals with a strong showing in Las Vegas. Instead, the second-ranked Funny Car driver was eliminated in E1 during the first NHRA Four-Wide event on the calendar.

Paul Lee (+916)

The series leader, Paul Lee, starts off the back of a runner-up place in the last round. He now boasts a win and a second place in his last three outings, giving him the momentum as he lines up this weekend. Lee will need to channel his recent form for the 4-Wide Nationals after he was eliminated in E1 at this venue last year.

The year has proven challenging for Bob Tasca III, besides an E3 appearance at the Arizona Nationals. Rhode Islander, Tasca III has struggled to progress beyond E2 in this campaign, and the 18-time winner sits in ninth in the Championship.

Ron Capps (+1251)

A second-place start to the season delivered promising signs for Ron Capp’s year ahead, but he has faltered since then, losing in E1 in the last two rounds. The 75-time Funny Car winner found himself in the final race here last year, but he finished third.

Matt Hagan (+1322)

Defending Funny Car American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals Champion Matt Hagan lines up to retain his crown. The Virginian has displayed promise this season, making one final and progressing to E3 twice. His fourth-place finish at The Strip lifts him into the same spot on the series standings.

Expert Pick – Funny Car

Austin Prock is the sensible choice for victory in the Funny Car category after winning the previous round. Prock lines up at the zMax Dragway priced at +272, offering a prospective payday of $74.40 from a $20 stake.

Greg Anderson (+451)

The 4-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas ended with Greg Anderson’s lowest return in 2025, as he crossed the line in third. Anderson is one of two Pro Stock drivers to progress to every final in this campaign, and he finds himself four points ahead at the top of the standings. Anderson starts with two wins under the hood in four events this year and is the defending Champion on this strip.

Dallas Glenn (+458)

Dallas Glenn heads to North Carolina with two wins and two runner-up finishes behind him this campaign. He sits second on the table behind his fierce rival Anderson, with whom he has entered every final race. Glenn is out for revenge in his adopted state after crossing the line in third in the 2024 edition of this event.

Aaron Stanfield (+907)

Consistency has posed a challenge to Aaron Stanfield this season and it reared its head again in “Sin City” where he exited in Q4. The result drops Standfield into ninth in the series, but he enjoyed a successful trip to Concord last time out, ending the weekend in second behind Greg Anderson.

Two E3 appearances for Cory Reed have positioned him fourth in the Championship. He has failed to make the final in any round this year, but has always progressed to E2 and better in every appearance in 2025.

Deric Kramer (+1448)

Deric Kramer has displayed great improvement over the last two rounds of the series, entering the third and second elimination rounds, respectively. Kramer now finds himself fifth in the series as he returns to the venue where he entered the second elimination round in 2024, before finishing third in his heat.

Matt Hartford (+1458)

A first final of the year ended in a runner-up performance for Matt Hartford, who has remained consistent in his previous three starts. The Arizonan is looking for redemption this year after exiting the previous American Rebel Light 4-Wide Nationals in Q4.

Expert Pick – Pro Stock Car

The Pro Stock Car class is tight between Greg Anderson and Dallas Glenn, but Glenn takes the expert pick honor this weekend. He starts with two wins and two runner-up returns, finishing on the proverbial podium in every race this year. Glenn starts at +458, offering a potential return of $111.60 on a $20 wager.

Gaige Herrera (-155)

The 2024 Pro Stock Motorcycle Drag Racing Champion, Gaige Herrera, is back in action for the second time this year. He got off to a flyer in Florida earlier in the year, taking his third consecutive Gatornationals crown, and has a storied past at zMax Dragway. Herrera is a two-time winner at this venue and is after his hat trick this time around.

Matt Smith (+282)

As predicted, Matt Smith was Herrera’s closest challenger at the Gatornationals, taking second place in the final race and the series standings. The local struggled in Concord last year, losing out in E3, but he excelled in 2023, crossing the line in second behind Herrera.

Richard Gadson (+763)

The Gatornationals saw Richard Gadson eliminated from the event in E2 against Chase Van Sant. However, the  Tennessean enjoyed a successful run at this track in 2024, progressing into the final and finishing in second to Herrera.

Chase Van Sant found himself facing the event and Championship favorite Gaige Herrera in E3 at the Gatornationals. As expected, Van Sant exited the event after falling to the eventual victor, but his form has been rewarded, positioned inside the top five in the series.

Angie Smith (+3301)

Three-time career winner Angie Smith started the season smoothly in Florida, making it all the way to E3. She lost out to her husband and title contender Matt in that round to move her into third on the table, 45 points shy of Herrera.

John Hall (+3806)

John Hall is back in town and looking to improve on his runner-up performance in 2024. Hall drove hard but in the end his E.T. was 0.074 seconds shy of the 2024 Champion Herrera. The double Pro Stock Motorcycles career winner endured a tough start to the season, losing out to Matt Smith in E2 at Gatornationals.

Expert Pick – Pro Stock Motorcycle

There is little doubt that Gaige Herrera is the expert pick for the Pro Stock Motorcycle division, given his current dominance. Herrera carries short odds of -155, possibly paying $32.90 on a $20 bet, but it’s tough to see anybody getting past him in North Carolina.
