Best Bets: F1 Belgian Grand Prix Pre-Event Odds Analysis

The circus is back after three weeks of blissful summer vacation, but before we dive into the F1 Belgian Grand Prix pre-event odds, it’s only right to honor Nico Hulkenberg. After 239 races, the veteran finally landed on the rostrum, in the previous round. He will have the confidence to repeat the feat this weekend, but will have to deal with the favorites Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Sir Lewis Hamilton starts as the defending champion, and is one race victory short of equaling Michael Schumacher’s record at Spa-Francorchamps. Let’s take a look at who you should keep an eye on as the series rolls into Stavelot.

Schedule and How to Watch the F1 Belgian Grand Prix

The third sprint weekend of the 2025 campaign is upon us, and Spa-Francorchamps has a stacked schedule with only one practice session planned on Friday, July 25. It’s another early Saturday for racing fans in the States with the Sprint lining up at 6:30 am EDT, followed by qualifying at 10:00 am.

A win on Saturday is always welcomed, but drivers set off after the grand prize on Sunday, July 27, starting at 9:00 am, with McLaren looking for a 10th constructor victory of the term. Watch the third sprint weekend of 2025 live on ESPN, and check out NXTbets for the latest odds and analysis to prepare for the weekend.

F1 Belgian Grand Prix Odds

Event Winner Odds

Teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have notched up 20 podiums and nine wins in the first 12 rounds. The Australian has the best overall finishing average on the grid of 2.58, finishing every race on the calendar, and leads the series from his colleague. However, Norris is the in-form driver exiting the pits with three triumphs in his last five starts.

Lewis Hamilton is a five-time champion at Spa, but his last victory was bittersweet. He was promoted to the top spot at the expense of his teammate George Russell, disqualified for an underweight car. While three-time Champion Max Verstappen can’t be ruled out, he’s still enduring braking issues and challenges with oversteer and understeer this season, which makes him too unpredictable to tip this weekend.

Can Oscar Piastri go one better at Spa-Francorchamps after finishing runner-up last time out?

Podium Odds

Besides the papaya duo and the two defending champions, George Russell is always threatening the top three positions. The Briton has sprayed champagne five times this year, including once as a winner, and averages 4.92. Despite his success in Canada, Russell’s average has risen to 6.20 over the previous five rounds. We were disappointed by Charles Leclerc’s performance at Silverstone, after he’d strung three podiums together in the prior four races. The Monagasque enjoys a successful history at this track, entering the top three in 2023 and 2024.

Nico Hulkenberg surprised many with his top three in the United Kingdom, but Spa is the type of track where the German could pull it off again. No driver has won the Grand Prix starting from pole at Spa since 2021, showing that anything can happen. Rookie Kimi Antonelli is the only other driver to feature in the post-race celebrations this year. However, he’s struggled of late, recording four DNFs and an 18th place in the previous five rounds.

Odds for the Top 6

Pierre Gasly joined the “Top Six” club for the first time this campaign after a hard-fought drive in the British Grand Prix. The result handed Alpine their single biggest haul of points in a round, despite his teammate’s car failing to start the race. Alexander Albon starts in Belgium off the back of an eighth-place return last time out, helping him terminate a three-race DNF streak. The Thai driver is a three-time top-six performer this year, averaging 7.67 in the nine races he’s completed.

Odds for a Top 10 Finish

Removing the obvious favorites from the conversation points us towards multiple value-for-money opportunities. First up is Fernando Alonso, who has greeted the stewards inside the top 10 in the previous four Grands Prix. The Spaniard has finished nine races on the calendar, averaging 10.56. Isack Hadjar, Esteban Ocon, and Carlos Sainz are tied on five top 10s apiece. Ocon made the top 10 cut twice in the previous three rounds, while Sainz last claimed the honor in Canada. Young Hadjar has to go back to Barcelona to recount his previous top 10.

Fastest Qualifier Odds

The fastest qualifier has proven irrelevant in the last three editions. Hamilton prevailed on his last trip from third place, and Verstappen the previous two, from sixth and 14th, respectively. Ferrari has put a driver at the head of the pack in all three of the last races and walked away empty-handed. Sainz started at the front of the grid in 2022, before Leclerc claimed the honor in the following two editions. The forecast looks different for this year, as the Italian garage is the only “Big Four Team” not to qualify fastest.

Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri are joint leaders with four pole positions each, followed by Lando Norris on three. George Russell is the only other driver to stop the clock the fastest in qualifying, back in Montreal.

Odds for the Constructors' Winner

Red Bull holds the honor of taking the spoils in three of the previous seven trips to Belgium. The Milton Keynes establishment lifted the trophy courtesy of Verstappen between 2021 and 2023. However, Mercedes put a stop to their dominance thanks to Lewis Hamilton in 2024, the second victory for the German team and their world Champion in five years. Ferrari has also lifted two trophies in the Belgium Grand Prix in recent memory, back in 2018 and 2019. At that time, Sebastian Vettel partnered with a young Leclerc.

McLaren hasn’t featured in the conversation of this race in recent years, but that changed last year when Piastri claimed runner-up. In addition, the Woking outfit has lifted the constructor trophy in 75% of events this year. They are undoubtedly the team to topple in Belgium.

Odds for the Midfield Winner Race

The midfield battle has kept F1 fans on their toes all season, constantly shifting.  Alexander Albon blasted off the grid in the early stage of the season, overcoming his peers in three of the first seven rounds. Isack Hadjar also stated his intentions clear in Japan and Monaco, topping the midfield. However, recently the battle has switched to one of wisdom.

Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg are the two drivers consistently challenging each other for top honors in this sector. The veterans have won three of the midfield battles since Barcelona, with Hulkenberg contributing two, and Alonso, the lone success in Canada.

Odds for the Sprint

Spa-Francorchamps marks the midway point for the 2025 F1 Sprint season. After two races, Ferrari and McLaren each have a scalp, thanks to Hamilton in Shanghai and Norris in Miami. Despite his struggles in the big races, the seven-time F1 Driver’s Champion has started the sprint season strong, podiuming in both outings, and averaging 2.00. His average is the best on the grid, along with Piastri, who played the role of bridesmaid in both sprints.
