Event Winner Odds
Five rounds into the 2026 NHRA Top Fuel series, and Shawn Langdon holds a four-point lead. He’s appeared in three out of the five finals, prevailing twice. Langdon’s closest challenger this year is Doug Kalitta, who enters Illinois with favorable pre-event odds of +643. Like the series leader, Kalitta has also featured in three E4 rounds this year, but only has one win to his name. He’s fresh off a runner-up behind Langdon at the Southern Nationals.
Defending Top Fuel Chicago Nationals Champion, Tony Stewart, is back in town. He’s battled at times this season, exiting in E2 or earlier in four out of the five rounds. However, he thrived in the Winternationals, returning to Victory Lane. Josh Hart concludes our list of Route 66 Nationals in the TF class, but he’s remained quiet since winning the season opener. Like Stewart, Hart has packed his bags early in four events this year, but still finds himself inside the top five in the standings.

Funny Car
Event Winner Odds
Only three units separates first two favorites in the Funny Car event winner market in round six. Matt Hagan takes the top spot, despite appearing in only one final this term. He toppled the field at the Winternationals to bag top honors, his best return so far. Trailing him on the odds sheet is Ron Capps at +548 for the win. He’s raced in three out of the last four finals, registering a 50% win rate. However, he produced his worst result of the term last time out, leaving the event after E1.
Further down the sheet, we encounter the reigning Champion in this event, Jack Beckman. The two-time victor in 2025, has struggled in the early parts of this season, progressing to one final, and ending runner-up. Sticking with longer odds, Jordan Vandergriff deserves a mention. He earned his maiden NHRA scalp in the Southern Nationals, and has progressed to E3 or better in 60% of events this season. Capping off our list of Funny Car contenders is Chad Green. He clinched the season opener, but has failed to advance beyond E2 since.

Five rounds into the 2026 campaign, and Dallas Glenn has built a healthy lead at the top of the standings. He finds himself with a 76-point buffer after entering three E4 rounds. Glenn has clinched two wins already this year, and only failed to make E3 or better in one event. He’s in sensational form and arrives off the back of a trip inside Victory Lane at the Southern Nationals. His perennial rival, Greg Anderson, has also raced in three finals this year, but has only captured one title, the Winternationals. He’ll be looking to bounce back here after an E1 exit in his previous outing.
Consistency hasn’t been his strong point this term, but Matt Hartford knows how to bag the checkered flag. He’s already triumphed twice this year, but outside of those events, he’s endured three E1 exits. Besides the three winning drivers this year, Cody Coughlin has impressed at times, delivering two runner-up performances. Lastly, Troy Coughlin Jr. is fresh off his maiden final appearance this season, but had to settle for second behind Dallas Glenn.

His odds are short at +259, but for good reason. Dallas Glenn presents a 60% final record in the opening five events, and he’s won two of them. There was no contest in the race for our expert pick. Staking $20.00 on Glenn to prevail in Chicago might pay out $71.80.

Two-time victor this season, Matt Hartford is favored to overcome the challenge of Matt Latino in the pick of our Pro Stock car matchups. Pro Stock Motorcycle
Event Winner Odds
The Pro Stock Motorcycle class rides out for its fourth showing this year, and it’s Gaige Herrera at the head of the odds sheet. He blitzed the field in the 4-Wide Nationals to earn his lone triumph this year. Herrera backed it up with an E3 appearance last time out. His fierce rival, Richard Gadson, continues to warrant the label of Mr. Reliable. He’s entered every final in 2026, taking top honors at the Gatornationals.
Matt Smith pulls into the Route 66 Nationals after clinching his first win of the year. It was a slow start to the term, with an E2 and E1 exit, but he found his form in Georgia to enter Victory Lane. Moving away from the favorites, Clayton Howey has garnered our attention with an E3 and finals appearance in the opening rounds. He regressed to an E2 exit in the previous event, but he’s much better than his +2117 odds suggest.

While Hartford’s 40% win rate this semester is attractive, it’s his inconsistency that makes us bullish on Latino. Latino has produced better results than Hartford in three of the five rounds in 2026, boosting his bang for buck in this encounter.

Expert Pick
Reliability is a core factor we consider when selecting our expert pick, making this week’s Pro Stock Motorcycle contest a no-brainer. Richard Gadson leads the PSM series by 51 units and boasts a 100% finals record in 2026. The only blemish on his record is that he’s finished second in two of his three finals appearances. Gadson starts the Route 66 Nationals at +264, offering a potential payday of $72.80 for a $20.00 stake.

The two big dogs of Pro Stock Motorcycle racing meet in Chicago for the pick of our PSM matchups. It’s Richard Gadson against Gaige Herrera, and the latter has the support of the betting fraternity, entering as the favorite at -154. However, we fancy Gadson’s chances, as he’s outclassed Herrera in two of the three PSM events on the calendar.
