BKFC Adds Uruguay, Reaches 13 Countries on Expansion Push

Uruguay debut
BKFC made its South American debut in Montevideo and filled Antel Arena for its first event in Uruguay. The show lifted the promotion to 13 countries overall and gave it a new market in a new region. BKFC said its international sold-out events have now taken place in the United States, Mexico, Thailand, England, Bulgaria, Canada, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Montenegro, Australia and Uruguay. The company also staged fights in Japan with Rizin Fighting Federation in 2024. The Uruguay card added another milestone to BKFC’s overseas run, and it placed the promotion in front of a sellout crowd in a city that had never hosted the brand before. The event also set up two more firsts on the schedule. BKFC is set to debut in Belgrade on Oct. 17 and in Glasgow on Nov. 7.
International reach
BKFC’s expansion has moved through multiple continents through live events, with Uruguay now added to a list that already covers North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The company has built that footprint with sold-out shows in established fight markets and in places where BKFC had never staged an event before. The Uruguay debut fit that pattern. It gave the promotion its first South American card and extended a run that includes previous international stops in Mexico, Thailand, England, Bulgaria, Canada, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Montenegro and Australia. Japan also belongs on that list because BKFC worked with Rizin Fighting Federation there in 2024. The next two entries on the calendar keep the push going into Europe. Belgrade comes first on Oct. 17. Glasgow follows on Nov. 7. The pattern is clear. BKFC is using live shows to open new markets one at a time and to keep expanding its international schedule.
Fight results
Gaston “Tonga” Reyno led the night with a fast finish in the main event. Reyno improved to 4-0 after he stopped Josh Krejci 1:29 into the first round. Guido “Ninja” Cannetti added a strong BKFC debut in the co-main event, beating Emiliano Nielli by unanimous decision. Luis Jimenez also won his promotional debut, taking a unanimous decision over Javier Torres. Marilyn Contin needed only 73 seconds to stop Gisela Luna. Nicolas Jara put together one of the most one-sided wins on the card, beating Ramon Mascarena by unanimous decision after dropping him nine times. Leandro Torres closed out the card with another piece of history. A ringside doctor stopped his bout against Gonzalo Jara in the third round, giving BKFC the first fight ever held in Uruguay. The results gave the Montevideo show a clean sweep of finishes and decisions across the lineup, with Reyno, Cannetti, Jimenez, Contin, Jara and Torres all part of the promotion’s first night in the country.
