Jones
Jones won at Homestead-Miami Speedway, leading the final 14 laps to win the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Championship Race. He beat Carson Kvapil by 3.937 seconds to win the race. The victory also gave Toyota its 700th NASCAR win. Kvapil finished second in the race.
Allgaier
Allgaier claimed his second series title in three years with a seventh-place finish. Allgaier beat defending champion Jesse Love by 14 points in the final standings, and the finish made him the first driver to win multiple titles for JR Motorsports. The championship also gave crew chief Andrew Overstreet his first title.
Stage and title swings
The race also brought several key moments before the final checkered flag. Sam Mayer won Stage 1. Allgaier dealt with a right-rear tire issue during that stage, but he stayed on track and still finished seventh in the segment. Corey Day’s title hopes ended early on Lap 8 after he collided with Rajah Caruth and hit the outside wall. The crash left Day 34th at the finish, 25 laps down. Allgaier secured the season title while Jones handled the race win, giving the event separate race and championship winners.
