Bulega’s title run
Nicolo Bulega closed out a dominant World Superbike campaign with the 2026 title, clinching the championship in Cremona with two rounds and six races left on the schedule. Bulega won 26 races during the season and stretched his winning streak to 25 straight victories, a World Superbike record. He also pushed his podium run to 43 consecutive races, a mark that showed how often he finished at the front even when he was not first across the line. Bulega did more than win races. He stacked up record-setting numbers across the board and turned the championship chase into a runaway long before the final rounds arrived.
Bulega’s record season
The trophy came with a long list of records. Bulega set single-season World Superbike marks with eight hat-tricks, 10 straight poles and 25 fastest laps, a sweep of statistics that matched the scale of his results on track. He leaves the series with 46 career wins, the sixth-most in World Superbike history. Bulega struggled in Moto3 and Moto2 before moving to World Supersport in 2022. The season also included records in poles, fastest laps and podium finishes. Bulega did not just win the championship. He put together a record-setting season in the series.
Bulega’s MotoGP move
Bulega now heads to MotoGP with VR46 next season, and his rise has already put him in position as a contender for the 2027 MotoGP crown with VR46 Ducati. Bulega has also served as Ducati’s lead test rider for MotoGP’s new 850cc era, and the work has given him a hand in shaping the bike and the Pirelli tires more than anyone else. If Bulega goes on to win MotoGP, he would become the first World Superbike champion to also become MotoGP world champion. Toprak Razgatlioglu offered a public salute after the title was secured in Cremona, posting, “Congratulations champ,” on Instagram. Bulega leaves World Superbike with a title, a pile of records and a clear path to the next stage of his career.
