Florida Swing Grows to Four Weeks for World of Outlaws Late Models

World of Outlaws Late Models expand Florida swing to four weeks in 2027

Florida swing expansion

The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will open its 2027 season with a four-week Florida swing that runs from late January through February, giving the series a longer start to the year and a heavier slate of events across multiple tracks. The stretch begins at Volusia Speedway Park with the Sunshine Nationals from Jan. 28-30, and the purse structure gives the opener an immediate boost. The Thursday and Friday features will pay $12,000 to win, then Saturday’s finale will pay $20,000 to win. Crate Racin’ USA DIRTcar Pro and 602 Late Models are also on the card at the Sunshine Nationals, which broadens the opening weekend and gives the Volusia stop more depth than a standard three-night race. The schedule sets a clear tone for the month ahead. The series is packing several marquee dates into the Florida run and spreading them across distinct venues, which gives the opening stretch a bigger footprint and more prize money than a short regional trip would provide. It also places Volusia back at the center of the early season, where the Sunshine Nationals will launch the swing before the series moves deeper into the state.

Hendry County stop

The Florida run shifts south after Volusia, with the Swamp Cabbage 100 at Hendry County Motorsports Park on Feb. 5-6 serving as the second stop on the schedule. That race keeps the series moving through the state in a steady line and maintains the rhythm of the four-week swing. From there, the schedule turns to one of its newest additions. Hunt the Front’s Southern Raceway in Milton joins the calendar and will host the inaugural Gulf Coast Winter Nationals on Feb. 12-13. The World of Outlaws will make its first appearance at the track on Feb. 12, giving the event immediate significance within the Florida stretch. The finale of the Gulf Coast Winter Nationals will pay $20,000 to win, which gives the new stop a strong finish and puts it among the higher-paying races in the opening run. The addition of Southern Raceway expands the series’ reach in the state and gives the Florida swing a fresh venue in the middle of the month. The schedule now connects established dates with a first-time stop, and that mix gives the 2027 opening stretch more variety than a simple return-to-the-same-place route.

Volusia finale

Florida action closes back at Volusia Speedway Park during the Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals on Feb. 18-20, bringing the swing home to the track where it started. The World of Outlaws Super Late Models will again be part of the big Volusia finale, and the race nights will carry another strong purse. The series will race for $12,000 to win on Thursday and Friday, then $20,000 to win on Saturday, matching the kind of top-end payout that has become a feature of the Florida opener. The event also brings back the Big Gator championship, which the series will crown again at the final Volusia round. That gives the closing weekend both a competitive edge and a familiar championship marker to end the state’s opening stretch. With the Sunshine Nationals to start the month, the Swamp Cabbage 100 in the middle, the debut of Southern Raceway, and the DIRTcar Nationals to finish, the 2027 Florida swing gives the World of Outlaws a packed, four-week launch. The route stretches from late January into February, covers multiple venues and adds higher purses across the board. It also gives the series a longer, more varied path through Florida before the season moves on.
