Williamson’s first victory
Garet Williamson earned his first World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series victory Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and he did it from the outside of the front row. Williamson spent much of the 40-lap feature chasing David Gravel, who led the first 25 laps. The move came on lap 26, when Williamson got by Gravel in Turns 3 and 4 and took command for good. He then held on over the closing laps to secure the breakthrough win.
Gravel’s early control
Gravel set the pace early and finished second after leading the opening 25 laps. Michael “Buddy” Kofoid took third, Spencer Bayston finished fourth and Logan Schuchart crossed in fifth. Williamson’s run through the front of the field gave the race a clear top five, with the lead swap on lap 26 deciding the outcome after Gravel controlled the early stages.
Williamson’s milestone night
The victory came in Williamson’s 163rd career feature start. It also made him the 159th different driver to win a World of Outlaws race. Williamson became the fourth first-time World of Outlaws winner of 2026, and the series has now had 20 different winners this season.
