Ryan Sieg Wins Daytona for First NASCAR Victory

Sieg’s Daytona win

Ryan Sieg won the Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway on Friday night, and he did it in overtime to claim his first NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victory in his 424th start. Sieg drove the No. 38 RSS Racing Chevrolet and beat Austin Hill to the line by 0.149 seconds. The win came after a late caution pushed the race beyond the scheduled distance. It also capped a strong run for Sieg after a late two-tire pit stop moved him into position for the finish.

Overtime restart turns

Sieg restarted from the second row on the two-lap overtime restart and worked past Carson Kvapil and Justin Allgaier before the checkered flag. Kvapil had controlled much of the race and led a race-high 50 laps, but he had to settle for third behind Hill. Anthony Alfredo finished fourth, Brandon Jones was fifth and Allgaier took sixth. The final restart gave Sieg the opening he needed, and he made the most of it with a clean run to the finish.

Chase field finalized

The race also finalized the 12-driver Chase field for the 2026 title run. Taylor Gray and Rajah Caruth grabbed the final two berths, while William Sawalich and Brent Crews were eliminated in crashes. Post-race inspection cleared Sieg’s No. 38 RSS Racing Chevrolet, leaving the result intact. The event also carried a small penalty for two other drivers, as one unsecured lug nut on Kvapil’s No. 1 car and one on Allgaier’s No. 7 car cost both drivers pit-stall selection at Darlington Raceway.
