NASCAR Cup Series teams will stay on a familiar Goodyear setup at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, using the same Goodyear Racing Eagles they ran at the track in March and at Kansas last weekend. The package has already seen action at several intermediate tracks this season, and Las Vegas now sits as the second stop in a three-week stretch on that type of track. That gives Cup teams another run with a tire combination they have already used in competition, and it puts the spotlight on a setup that Goodyear has been rotating through intermediate events. The repeat call for Las Vegas also ties the weekend back to the spring race at the same track. With Kansas fresh in the rearview mirror, the Cup field heads to Las Vegas with the same tire code in hand and another chance to use a package it has already seen in race service. The South Point 400 is scheduled for Sunday night at 5:30 p.m. ET, with television coverage on USA Network and HBO Max and radio coverage on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
O’Reilly Auto Parts Series
The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will also carry a familiar Goodyear package into Las Vegas, running the same Goodyear Racing Eagles it used in the track’s March race. That tire setup last ran at Texas Motor Speedway in May, giving teams another recent reference as they prepare for Saturday night’s Focused Health 302. The series will also run inner liners at Las Vegas, a requirement that applies at tracks one mile or longer. Like the Cup series, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series is returning to a tire configuration it already knows. The package has already been through race use and now gets another run at Las Vegas.
Weekend schedule
Las Vegas hosts both national series this weekend, with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on track Saturday night and the Cup Series following Sunday night. The Focused Health 302 opens the schedule at 7:30 p.m. ET, then the South Point 400 follows at 5:30 p.m. ET. Both series will use tire combinations that have already been put into race service elsewhere this season. USA Network and HBO Max will carry the Cup race, while PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will handle the radio call.
