Hailie Deegan won rain-shortened NAPA Auto Parts 150 after 42 laps

Hailie Deegan

Hailie Deegan won the ARCA Menards Series West finale at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway in Bakersfield, California, after rain cut the NAPA Auto Parts 150 to 42 laps and turned the race into a long wait for the finish. The race sat through a several-hour delay before the weather finally ended it under a red flag, and Deegan was declared the winner after she controlled the action once the event got back under way. She passed Mia Lovell on the opening lap, then stayed in front through the race’s lone restart before rain ended the event. The victory gave Deegan her second win of the 2026 season and the fourth ARCA Menards Series West win of her career. It also capped a sharp performance in a race that changed fast as the weather closed in. Deegan kept her focus through the stoppage, returned to the front when the green flag waved again and officials stopped the event for good.

Mia Lovell

Mia Lovell set the tone for the race by winning the pole and starting on the inside of the front row, while Deegan lined up second on the outside. That gave the series its first all-female front row and put the spotlight on the opening laps before the rain took over the schedule. Lovell stayed in the hunt and finished second when the race ended early, giving her a strong result after leading the field to green. Hudson Sharp followed in third in his West Series debut with Nitro Motorsports, Taylor Mayhew came home fourth and Trevor Huddleston completed the top five. The front of the field stayed tight through the short race, but the weather and the lone restart made track position critical. Once Deegan moved ahead, the race shifted toward survival, with the field waiting for the next interruption that never let the event reach full distance.

Trevor Huddleston

Trevor Huddleston secured his second consecutive ARCA Menards Series West championship with a fifth-place finish in the rain-shortened finale. His season included two wins and 10 top-five finishes. The Bakersfield race closed out the season with the championship secured. Deegan took the win, Lovell took second and Huddleston took the crown, bringing the West Series finale to a close with the key pieces settled before the rain could take any more away.
