Carson Macedo won the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car feature at Kings Speedway in Hanford, California, and the victory gave the Lemoore native a hometown win at a track about 10 miles from where he grew up. Macedo started in row three, adding to the significance of the result at a venue so close to home.
Macedo lap 21 move
Macedo took the lead with a Lap 21 slide job to pass Corey Day. Day stayed close late in the race and briefly drew alongside Macedo before making a small mistake in Turn 2 with a few laps remaining. Macedo held off Day to secure the victory.
Macedo Kings record
Michael Kofoid finished third after charging from 11th, David Gravel finished fourth and Sheldon Haudenschild took fifth. For Macedo, the win was his 64th career World of Outlaws victory and his third career win at Kings Speedway. It also made him one of only three drivers to win back-to-back races at the track. Macedo left Hanford with another Kings Speedway win, another line in a long World of Outlaws ledger and another result that links his name to the track in a lasting way.
