A controlled Kansas finish
Kaden Honeycutt won the weather-delayed Race to Stop Suicide 200 at Kansas Speedway and did it in control from the start. He swept the first two stages, led 111 of the race’s 134 laps and beat Christian Eckes by 1.358 seconds to secure his third victory of the 2026 season. The result came after a race that demanded patience and pace in equal measure, and Honeycutt delivered both. He stayed at the front through the key stretches, kept the field behind him and closed out the job when the laps counted most. Honeycutt said the team “just executed” all night.
Rain delays Kansas
The race spent 4 hours and 47 minutes under a red flag because of intermittent rain, turning the event into a long stop-start test before the finish was settled. The delay stretched the afternoon and added another layer of pressure for the drivers trying to protect position once the race resumed. Honeycutt handled the conditions best, and the final margin showed how strong he was at the front even after the interruption. Eckes settled for second, Brent Crews finished third, Daniel Hemric took fourth and Ben Rhodes came home fifth. That group gave the race a clean finish after the weather disruption, but Honeycutt had already built the edge he needed. His pace at the front never disappeared, and the long red flag did not change the outcome once the race returned to action.
Honeycutt points lead
Honeycutt left Kansas with a 37-point lead over Layne Riggs and five races remaining, a position that gives him a clear cushion in the run to the finish. Riggs finished 19th after late-race pit-road trouble and wall contact, a costly stretch that dropped him well behind the leaders. Grant Enfinger had an even tougher night and finished 31st after a flat tire and a two-lap penalty for intentionally bringing out a caution. Those results mattered in the points race because Honeycutt took advantage of the trouble around him while keeping his own race clean. He did his damage with stage wins, lap leadership and a strong final run to the checkered flag. The combination left him with momentum and control at a critical point in the season, and it put the pressure on the drivers trying to chase him down over the final five races.
