John Hunter Nemechek

Haas Factory Team has announced John Hunter Nemechek as part of its full-time lineup, and he will take over the No. 41 Chevrolet from Sam Mayer in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2027. Pye-Barker Fire & Safety will be the primary sponsor on the car and Jason Trinchere will serve as crew chief. Nemechek said he is ready to compete for wins, and Joe Custer said the team is excited to bring him in as it looks toward victories and championships.

John Hunter Nemechek

Nemechek brings a strong background across NASCAR’s national series. He has 11 career wins in the O’Reilly Series and 13 victories in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, two marks that show how often he has turned good runs into wins. In the Cup Series, he has three top-five finishes and 17 top-10 finishes, production that gives Haas Factory Team a driver with experience at the highest level of the sport. He is the son of former O’Reilly Series champion Joe Nemechek. His most recent O’Reilly Series win came at Nashville Superspeedway. Nemechek will join Haas Factory Team after being cut loose by Legacy Motor Club with one year left on his contract, opening a new chapter in his career.

Haas Factory Team

Haas Factory Team has confirmed two of its three full-time drivers, with Dean Thompson set to return and Mayer and Sheldon Creed leaving after this season. That leaves the team with a clearer picture of its future and a major vacancy now filled by a driver who has already proved he can win at multiple levels. Custer said the organization is excited to add Nemechek and is looking forward to contending for victories and championships with him. For Mayer, the change will end his time in the No. 41 car. Nemechek gives Haas Factory Team a proven race winner with Cup Series experience and a résumé that includes success in both the O’Reilly Series and the Truck Series.
