Logano climbs in Chase

Joey Logano won the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway, charging from fourth to first on the final restart to take the checkered flag. The victory gave Logano his third NASCAR Cup Series win of 2026 and the 40th Cup win of his career. It also pushed him higher in the Chase standings. Logano moved from ninth to third after the race and was 16 points behind Kyle Larson when the night ended. The finish gave him a strong result at a point in the season when every position in the standings matters.

Larson leads Chase

Kyle Larson finished second at Bristol and used that run to move into the lead in the Chase standings. He held a one-point edge over Denny Hamlin after the race, with Hamlin dropping to one point behind Larson after finishing eighth. Christopher Bell stayed in the title fight as well, sitting 17 points behind Larson. The spread among the contenders stayed narrow after Bristol.

Blaney-Hocevar fight

Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar brought the roughest moment of the night. The two clashed on track and fought on pit road after their Bristol contact. Blaney’s car was wrecked in the incident, and he took a punch to the face. He finished 33rd, which sent him from second to sixth in the standings. Blaney also fell to 52 points behind Larson after Bristol. NASCAR reviewed the incident and did not expect penalties, and officials were set to discuss it at their weekly postrace meeting.
