Patrick honored
Major Heath Patrick took center stage at PBR Teams: Outlaw Days at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, when he received the Horse Soldier Bourbon Be Cowboy Award. The honor went to a Bronze Star recipient and Army Special Forces veteran. Patrick was recognized for military service and work helping fellow veterans.
Army service
Patrick served more than a decade on active duty, much of it with the Green Berets. After leaving active duty, Patrick found a new mission through War Horses for Veterans, an organization built around horsemanship, teamwork and ranch work. The group helps combat veterans and first responders build confidence, communication and leadership skills.
War Horses
Patrick later became a War Horses for Veterans ambassador and mentor. He also competed in two War Horse Challenges, one in Las Vegas and one in Fort Worth. The Horse Soldier Bourbon Be Cowboy Award was presented by retired Green Beret Mark Nutsch, a co-founder of Horse Soldier Bourbon.
