MotoGP grid set
MotoGP’s next grid is fully locked in, with all 11 teams now having announced their rider plans. The lineup change is sweeping. Seventeen of the 22 riders are moving to new teams, and five race winners are leaving the field. That kind of turnover gives the new grid a very different look before a wheel has turned.
Ducati Lenovo built one of the clearest anchor points in the field by keeping Marc Marquez through at least 2028 and adding Pedro Acosta beside him. Aprilia Racing will field Marco Bezzecchi and Francesco Bagnaia. Trackhouse will go with Raul Fernandez and Enea Bastianini. Those moves alone put several riders in new surroundings.
Team lineups announced
KTM’s plans also point to major change. The factory team will field Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, while Tech3 KTM will run Luca Marini and Senna Agius. Gresini will line up Joan Mir and Dani Holgado. VR46 will send out Fermin Aldeguer and Nicolo Bulega. Pramac Yamaha will race with Toprak Razgatlioglu and Izan Guevara. Those pairings add to the reshaped grid.
That turnover runs through the whole field. Several riders are switching factories, and several teams are reworking both seats. Ducati’s decision to keep Marquez and pair him with Acosta stands out because it combines Marc Marquez with Pedro Acosta. Aprilia, Trackhouse, KTM, Tech3, Gresini, VR46 and Pramac Yamaha all have announced pairings for the new cycle.
Vinales missing
Vinales will miss the new MotoGP grid after talks with KTM collapsed. The collapse leaves him out of the lineup and removes another high-profile name from the entry list. The absence matters because the grid is already losing five race winners overall.
The final picture is one of heavy movement and a full reset. The teams have settled their plans, the field is complete and the personnel shuffle is already one of the biggest talking points around the championship. With 17 of the 22 riders changing teams, the next grid will look far removed from the one that came before it. The names are in place now, with the reshaped field set for 2027.
