World of Outlaws to debut at Texarkana 67 Speedway Oct. 23-24

Texarkana debut

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series will make its first visit to Texarkana 67 Speedway on Oct. 23-24, and the debut comes with two headline events built into the same weekend. The seventh Jason Johnson Classic anchors the program and pays $20,000 to win. Saturday also brings the first World of Outlaws-sanctioned Short Track Nationals, which will pay $25,000 to win. The setup gives the track a two-night spotlight and gives the series a fresh stop in the schedule. Carson Macedo will chase a Jason Johnson Classic victory for Jason Johnson Racing, a team that won the inaugural running in 2019.

Kofoid record chase

Buddy Kofoid and Roth Motorsports arrive with 16 victories in 2026, and that total matches the team’s single-season mark. With five races left after Texarkana, Kofoid still has time to set a new team record. That chase gives the weekend meaning beyond the payouts and the trophies. Texarkana is part of that path, with the first of those races coming at a track the series has never visited before. That adds a new test to a season already defined by a win total and a team mark that sits within reach of breaking.

Gravel title chase

David Gravel leads the standings by 128 points over Kofoid and is trying to clinch a third straight championship. That margin keeps him in control, but it does not close the door on the season’s final push. The Texarkana weekend is the final stop before the Nov. 4-7 World Finals at Charlotte, and there are five races left after it. That makes the debut part of the closing stretch that will decide how the title race ends. Gravel’s focus stays on the championship. Kofoid’s focus includes wins and a possible team record. Macedo brings another race-specific storyline with his bid for a Jason Johnson Classic victory. The weekend therefore carries three tracks of pressure at once, the title race, the win chase and the event history. Texarkana will not settle the championship, but it will move the series one step closer to Charlotte and one step closer to the end of the year. For Gravel, that means another chance to widen a points gap that already sits at 128. For Kofoid, it means another chance to cut into a record book. For Macedo, it means another shot at a race that already has a place in Jason Johnson Racing’s history. Charlotte follows, so every lap at Texarkana feeds directly into the last stretch of the schedule.
