Phoenix Raceway has set a March 12-14 spring weekend for its 2027 schedule, and the centerpiece is a NASCAR and NTT IndyCar Series doubleheader. The weekend opens Friday, March 12, with an ARCA Menards Series race. Saturday, March 13, puts the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and IndyCar on the same track program, with IndyCar scheduled to race on Phoenix Raceway’s 1-mile short oval. Sunday, March 14, closes the weekend with the NASCAR Cup Series. That gives the track a three-day stretch that moves from ARCA to a shared Saturday card and then into Cup on the final day. It also makes Saturday the central day of the weekend, with two major touring series using the same track schedule. Phoenix Raceway said broadcast details and race times will come later. The spring slate now has a clear start, middle and finish, and the track has locked in a compact showcase for early March.
IndyCar return
IndyCar's return gives the schedule an early-season crossover stop at a track owned by NASCAR. The series will race at Phoenix Raceway on March 13, 2027, and the 2026 weekend was viewed as a success that helped prompt the return. Phoenix now sits with St. Petersburg and Arlington as the first three tracks on IndyCar's 2027 season, matching the opening trio from 2026. That keeps Phoenix in a prominent place on the calendar and gives the series another oval event at a venue already tied closely to NASCAR's spring weekend. It also makes the Phoenix stop one of the first checks on the 2027 IndyCar schedule. The return gives IndyCar a familiar stage at the start of the championship year and gives Phoenix another national open-wheel race to pair with its stock-car program. The Saturday doubleheader should again draw the most attention because it puts IndyCar and the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on the same day. The move also shows that the 2026 Phoenix weekend did more than fill a date on the calendar, it helped keep the event in place for 2027.
Fall NASCAR weekend
Phoenix Raceway also laid out a fall NASCAR Chase weekend from Oct. 22-24 in its 2027 calendar. The weekend starts Friday, Oct. 22, with the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Saturday, Oct. 23, brings the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the ARCA Menards Series West. Sunday, Oct. 24, closes the weekend with the Freeway Insurance 500. The fall schedule gives the track another three-day run later in the year and mirrors the spring weekend with a busy middle day and a headline race on Sunday. Phoenix Raceway said limited tickets remain for its 2026 NASCAR Chase weekend, set for Oct. 16-18, 2026. That means the venue is already looking at one Chase weekend in the near term while laying out another for the following year. With the spring doubleheader and the fall Chase weekend both confirmed, the 2027 lineup gives Phoenix two clear anchors on the NASCAR calendar. The release leaves broadcast details and race times for later, but the core of the schedule is now in place.
