Pirelli final test
Pirelli completed its development test for 2027 MotoGP tires at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, and the session closed the company’s second and final in-season MotoGP test with race riders in 2026. Eighteen riders took part as Pirelli continued its program before it replaces Michelin in MotoGP next season. The company said feedback on grip and stability was positive.
Tire compounds and conditions
Pirelli ran the program with both 850cc prototype bikes and adapted current-generation 1000cc bikes. Riders evaluated soft, medium and hard slick compounds while the track stayed sunny, with temperatures ranging from 19 C to 38 C.
Rider lineup and Valencia
The rider roster brought a mix of factory names and stand-ins. Franco Morbidelli replaced Nicolò Bulega on the Ducati, while Honda’s test spots went to Johann Zarco, Diogo Moreira and Takaaki Nakagami after Luca Marini and Joan Mir were not invited. Toprak Razgatlioglu and Izan Guevara rode for Yamaha. The next race-rider test is set for Dec. 1 in Valencia after the season finale, and Pirelli said that session will come with the full 2027 rider lineup and official timing. That keeps the development schedule moving toward the series’ tire changeover.
