Ralf Schumacher criticized Hadjar’s Austin radio outburst

Hadjar’s Texas frustration

Isack Hadjar left the United States Grand Prix with more frustration than reward after a rough afternoon in Austin, where he vented repeatedly on team radio and then said he wanted a fix for the car. The driver, 22 and in his second Formula 1 season, qualified third and finished sixth after a race shaped by problems he said were beyond his control. He pointed to Red Bull’s recurring start issues, poor radio coverage and a pit-stop mapping problem that added to the damage. Hadjar said a mistake during his pit stop left him stuck in pit-lane mode for the rest of the race, a blow he said cost him about one second per lap. That sequence ruined his chance to turn the P3 starting spot into another podium, even as Max Verstappen also endured a difficult race and still finished third.

Schumacher’s criticism

Ralf Schumacher took aim at Hadjar’s response after the race, saying the behavior was not appropriate and that the driver needs to change that attitude. Schumacher said Hadjar should “take it down a notch” and added that the conduct “does not belong” in Formula 1. He also said Hadjar was lucky Helmut Marko was no longer at Red Bull, suggesting Marko would have stepped in if he still had a role there.

Hadjar’s season

The Austin race left Hadjar seeking answers from the team, while Schumacher’s criticism kept attention on how he responded to the setbacks.
