He has stayed close to the sport from the outside, but he made clear that interest alone does not mean a plan is in motion. He is leaving the option open, but he is not pushing to get back into the paddock right now.
Vettel family life
Vettel says he is spending his time on family life and looking after a small farm at home. That routine gives him a different pace from the constant travel and pressure that came with his racing career. He said he is enjoying that life and is not trying to fill it with a Formula 1 job. Still, he follows Formula 1 closely, which keeps him connected to the championship even as he lives outside it. He is balancing a quieter home life with a continued interest in what happens on track.
Vettel sustainability focus
Vettel also said his interest in sustainability remains part of what he might do next. He cited Formula 1’s sustainability efforts, its 2030 net-zero goal and future regulations as areas that still matter to him. He said the sustainability projects he has worked on in recent years remain important and could influence his next step. Vettel was previously linked to a 2024 Le Mans return after testing a Porsche Hypercar, and he also recently drove Michael Schumacher’s 2002 Ferrari in a demonstration run at the Italian Grand Prix.
